Cherry blossom! Taken somewhere in Kyoto. They were everywhere
This is probably the only flower picture I have taken in my life XD.
In a group of 40 students and everyone is running around with a brand new SLR taking pictures of this stuff.. I couldn't resist joining in
and it was spring time, so every single tour guide we had gave us a 1 hour speech about these flowers.

depth of focus is great here - the rest of the foliage makes a perfectly matched background for the sharp image in the foreground. kind of a stained glass feel to the background

I think its an apple blossom if I'm not mistaken (:
They only bloom for a few days so it's hard to get a good picture, and if it rains all the petals drop off.. I try to get pictures when they are still pink, though!
