This is majestic. I have Fimo (polymer clay) too and want to make dolls. How you even did that?
Edit: maybe you used some tutorials? can you link one or 2 maybe? I love learning!

Thanks!
Fimo is good, you might want to do some stress tests on it to see how durable it is though. The joints need to be able to handle the tension of the cord. I don't have a singular tutorial that I used, I gathered up all the resources that i could find and went to work. The thing that helped me most was probably youtube videos showing how to sculpt and string the dolls.Β

You are welcome!
I need to be careful while cooking it since if I leave it for too long fine cracks start to appear. Happened once.
Fimo is quite durable if it would be after me. Dropped figures on the ground without any damage.
The major downside is that if you have nails too long and since fimo is kinda soft when you model it, some small imperfections appear.
I also asked since the makers of Fimo have kits to actually make dolls with and was interested.
I understand.. Thank you sooo much! You sure are amazing and you could make more figures like this since it shows you documented yourself a lot!

There's a cord being strung through the hollow body which holds all the body parts in place and allows the ball joints to move in the sockets

Never heard of BJDs but think I'll do a bit of learning myself! I'd love to turn some of my clay stuff into actual toys.

yeah, i like making something that can pose. i used to make sculptures all the time but it got kinda boring so i'm learning how to create toys/dolls now.

Wow, this is amazing. You should sell this somewhere, I bet you can make a hot buck off of it.Β
Or don't and just keep it as an art souvenir. Either option.
