Description

Okay so...I almost didn't share this one, I think purely based on the fact that it's just concept art, not a fancy finished piece or an elaborate sketchdump 8D;; But I don't exactly have the output that I used to, so what else am I gonna upload!! I'll try to be better about posting whatever, its just really hard sometimes

This one is actually a redesign of an old character, originally named Ti-nuna, now renamed to Nybrieth {Nigh-bree-eth}. I cleaned up my gallery a while ago so the only previous picture that's still up is on a sketchdump I'll link to below. I've been meaning to redo her for a while; originally they came out of a dream I had, but I was never happy with the design nor the color scheme. I don't think 'I saw it in a dream once' is a good enough reason to keep a design that isn't working so I did a bunch of pen doodles to change it up a bit...the bumpy texture needs a little more work but it looks way better overall. I also grabbed the wrong colors, so just imagine that this is supposed to be a couple shades darker and maybe some streaky markings 8Va

Anyway Nybrieth is an individual of a group of mostly benevolent creatures generally known as 'cosmic wyrms' aka......space dragons. Cosmic wyrms in turn are Higher Beings, meaning that they aren't necessarily gods but they have existences waaaaay beyond mortal comprehension so they may as well be ~ Ahveph (a sentient city) is another example of a Higher Being, albeit one with a different origin. As it turns out cosmic wyrms are in fact worshipped as deities by shapeshifters on this particular planet and Nybrieth's domain is considered to be 'fate'. Cosmic wyrms have immense psychic ability and it is said that they originally gave shapeshifters the ability to change their form. Presumably they also have the ability to shapeshift shift themselves but whether or not they actually do is unknown

More about Nybrieth - the head situation isn't 'two individuals sharing one body'; it's 'this one individual just happens to have two heads', so there's no difference in personality between the two sides. She definitely uses psychic vision and telepathy to see and speak
