I like the elegant simplicity of the beads on this piece I love the way you make your entire necklace... from the pendant to the accents, chains,etc.. It's nice to see someone take the time to fabricate every element of their work instead of using premade components . Mark made the heavy linked sterling chain for his dino inlay pendant and it's a great deal of time consuming work.

At the show we heard quite a few people saying how much they loved that you used labradorite in your work. Wow... some of your pieces were so much larger than I imagined! It was coll to see everyone's work in person. And you did such a great job on the jewelry cases!!!!!!!!! We were very impressed

Yes, it adds time to the work, for sure. But, after watching people buy findings all day, I could never bring myself to actualy use the ready-mades. Plus, after spending so much time on the focal, it would seam silly to just add a clasp to something. I might as well just wip one up.

Yes, labrodorite is my fav. It's not an expencive stone, but it has that dual quality of looking like frozen pond water till the light hits it just right. And, a string of them can look like it is electric when you are moving around.

I really love the spectrolite that you guys are using as well. It is like the beautiful cousin of labrodorite

I love when a piece of jewelry is given substance when the creator bases it on an idea, gives it a story.
That much more thought and love has gone into its making when there is reason behind it.
Beautiful work

Thank you,
the stories that have been told over the years, are a large part of who we are today. Weaving these stories into my work keeps them going, I hope

It does. Like many, I like to believe I enjoy and am inspired by the myths of the world. I would have not know of Valgrind had I not stumbled across your necklace. I can also see how you apply that reference to the necklaces its self. Just, very thoughtful. Very creative

Thank you again. One of the first artists that I connected with aesthetically in college was Anselm Kiefer, a German artist back in the cold war days of a divided Germany. He used these Germanic myths, Hitler's biography, and alchemy to convey new stories with old ones. I have waited till now to attempt to use his Wagnerian inspirations myself, although I have no desire to weave these together as he did. I just played with the myth.

Check out Anselm Kiefer and Wagner's work as well. Although seeing Kiefer's work is not nearly as impressive as being in front of it. His work incorporates smell and huge canvases that really bring the viewer into the work.

Thank you again

Thank you. This one has taken every bit of three weeks to complete. The faceted drops were a bear to complete and get balanced. I have a few more that I will make into matching earrings. I could have ordered some in labrodorite, but I was really wanting all of the stones cut from the same stone. But, by the time I was ready to have it all strung, I let Lora use pre-cut lab for the rest of the beads. I barely had fingertips left, and the tiny heishis would have started eating the rest of my fingers off, LOL.

I have never been much of an opera fan, but I started by reading about Wagner, which made me want to hear it. It takes a while to get opera, especially German opera. Maybe this is why most Americans don't ever give it a chance. But, I am fascinated with languages, and it gave me a chance to put my high school German to the test, lol.

Thanks again
