Yellow for gold, richness, vivacity, happiness, hope, light...
Symbol:
Its a simple symbol, the grid is based in the letters "R" and "C", the golden "C" is supposed to look like a coin being deposited into a box.
Typography:
"Reativa typeface" created by me, based on "Futura Medium typeface".

Looks really great, although i think that the yellow seems a bit vague on the pure-white background.

the yellow on the pure-white background is in outline for presentation of the grid. thats why you think is vague
when I use the real logo on the white BG, the yellow have 10% cyan and isn't in outline
