Description I had a request from my friend Jettrainfan to show the whole layout. I said it would be difficult and (as you can see) even with an 18mm wide-angle lens I couldn't get the whole 12' x 10' in. However, here is most of it.

The layout is viewed from above the North Goods Yard, looking towards the up splitting starter signal and the main line junction at Truro (South Western). As is obvious, I couldn't do a full loft conversion so the roof uprights are built into the layout and camouflaged as much as possible, for example, the tower block of South Western House is built around the nearest roof brace. The buildings this side of South Western House are the rear of a parade of shops and the Police Station, which has 1960s Panda Cars (remember them?) in its car park.

The Malpas branch is in the background and Landera Diesel Depot is on the left. The steam shed is masked by the scenic board, the back of which is nearest the camera. There is not a lot of room around the layout, except at this end, which means a good deal of crawling and sore knees - although knee pads help!

Between the two locomotives nearest on the right are the lines going down to the lower level loops which are under Malpas station. The upper 'fiddle yard' (representing the rest of British Railways) is on the far left between the backscene and the window.

Absolutely beautiful! It blows my mind how well it all blends together! Can't figure out what I like the best though, the transfer table or the Truro station. Greatly detailed, and gotta love the building covering the brace, that's a clever solution.

Thanks a lot!

Nice; I can't get everything, but I do see a "Gronk", an 0-4-0 shunter, a 0-6-0T (pannier), I think a 2-6-0 running tender first and a Warship? on shed.

I do not see any evidence that the platforms have the notice "High speed trains pass this platform. Stay behind the yellow line or you may be sucked off." although that is a real thing on main line station through platforms.

I think there's a Toad breakvan in a background siding.

Cheers, yep the pannier is a 64XX which was fitted for auto train working and I have another one coming for Christmas. The Class 4 in the north yard is pushing some wagons in - it's a weathered version of 75027 which preserved on the Bluebell Railway. The Warship is correct! The layout is in a mess at the moment with far too many locos on it but I will get it sorted in the New Year.

This is pre- HST yellow line but I had a colleague who used to say "Come on train!" in response to that warning!
