Black wolves are difficult to photography in a lot of lighting situations because of the limited dynamic range of the camera.
This is a great shot and the color of his coat adds so much to the mood of the photo,
are you at a zoo of some type or in the wild?

Thanks so much, I hate photographing black animals, used to have a black cat, it was such a pain to photograph,I have only ended up with a couple of reasonable ones.

There is no denying that wolves are absolutely stunning creatures.

I have to admit to being a little torn doing these 'darker' wolf peices, (such as this and my avatar) because wolves arent really dark or mennacing, and generally I like to make sure people know that.

But sometimes my love of horror films (American Werewolf in London a personal favourite of mine) gets the better of me! hehe!

I added a very slight hint of 'diffuse glow' so thats probably why.
