Description More picture (more details and even progress but in bad quality) can be found here: [link] Please ask away if there is anything you want to know. I'm really busy with stuff right now but I'm always eager to help :">

Finally I got time to take proper pictures of this one. It was hell of a work, but the result is... just awesome.

I got the inspiration from here: [link]
It's a painting called Moon Dream by resonance83, hence the name of the piece.

The idea was a realistic looking ajisai bouquet, with strange, contemporary looking shidare, in a traditional round shape design. I decided to add the painted Asakusa style leaves (not sure about the name, but in pictures of kanzashi my friend took at Asakusa I've seen they are used a lot). After a few research, I've found this (not exactly) new pattern for ajisai petal. They are still rounded, but with subtle pointy tips that makes the petals look a bit like rectangles, which is the real shape of ajisai petals. I used tiny blue pips in the central as well, to add with the reality.

It would not be really visible to naked eyes, though it does add a subtle richness to the color, but I used 3 shades of blue for this piece, not 2! I want to illustrate the adorably blurring but vibrant color of ajisai in the rainy season. Because, June is the rainy season in Japan, right before the summer holiday. Plus, I'm a Bleach fan girl (it's a shounen manga, surprise? ^O^) Yes, I'm talking about Bleach, Rukia and Ichigo, and their MEMORY IN THE RAIN!! Hurray xD That is also the reason why I changed this bouquet to a brighter, happier color, like the clear blue color of the sky when the rain just left off <3 Later on, I also realized that the lighter blue shade makes the daker blue shade looks... less as grumpy as it would be standing by itself, and the icy blue shade was also changed to something softer, almost candy sweet and much more innocent. Which fits the characters images perfectly. <--- Sorry if I'm not making any sense. Fan girl talk here lol xD

Anyhoo, this piece really makes me happy, and it has such a meaning to me, so I decided that I would NOT sell it, like, EVER! Even if I'm not completely satisfied with the paint I used on the leaves. Come to think of that, it makes me think of the quote: "The world is not perfect, there for it's beautiful". And that's so true. Ichigo and Rukia are not perfect, that's why they fit each other beautifully. Aww man I'm doomed, can't get out of this fan girl thing when it's started.

I see

I wear hijab so I can't really sure how to attach comb accessory hehe..

You are good on arranging it into bouquet.

Now I wonder what kind of wire/what gauge did you use?Β

Thank you :")

Well with hijab I think you can put the flowers on brooch pins or aligator clips, like what I did with this one: coveneye.deviantart.com/art/Br…

For this piece I used 0.3mm black beading gauge, but this is the old technique. Mine got more complex now and I'll be making another ajisai soon for a customer, in which I think I would use both 0.3mmΒ  and 1.8mm gauge to form the bouquet, together with some hand painting ="P

Thanks. It is the project I poured the most labor and heart into. My fav color is blue too, blue like the sky color, or purplish blue (ai-iro) like her eyes <3<3<3

What kind of petals did you use to make these?
I'm experimenting on making different types of kanzashi for Christmas presents this year. lol

Well it's just normal round petals that I pinched the tips with glue, kind of like a kikyo's petal, but less pointy.
We don't really celebrate Christmas here, but I guess a tsumami snow flake could work pretty nice with some bows and bells. I've seen some around on DA.
Good luck on your project.
