God, I love those soft shadows which you can always catch on your photos. It looks just fantastic! Wish one of my friends had at least half of your talent. Great job as usual!

I don't have anything done with the both of us together. Most are just candids in VERY poor quality... :/

Man, i'm jealous... I wish I had a camera that did 3200 ISO without looking grainy...
What kind of light setup did you use for this?

I didn't mean for it to be 3200 ISO... Ugh! I wish I had it at a lot tighter setting, but it's just the way it worked out.
I had a light box and spot. The spot was at a 500 setting (full light) and the light box at 125.

That and the place you've grown up, it never leaves you...I think the experiences I have had here will forever be stuck back there in my mind, spending countless hours trekking through random bits of wilderness.
I've really wanted to visit Seattle sometime. I haven't traveled much in my life, especially to the states... It looks like a neat place, tonnes of things there I'd like to see.

I agree with you - changes, positive ones, are very important and help build character as well as resilience to life's bullshit when it hits the fan.
It's really helpful to you that you yourself have recognized a need for positive change in your life. It's certainly much better to be self-motivated than externally motivated through negative stimuli. I must say that though you write that your parents haven't been altogether supportive of your existence, they haven't been altogether detrimental or obstructive, either. I agree with you that it's seriously crucial to have the blessings and support of your immediate family, but in the long run it's up to each individual to make their decision that best benefits their own lives, sometimes to the chagrin of their immediate family - lol!
I see it as we're all puzzle pieces in the very large puzzle of life. We fit in perfectly into the big picture, but our shapes are different and may not fit where it seems most obvious.
The Middle East was ... interesting. I liked and didn't like it all at the same time. I had a mate who adventured with me at times when we were visiting Egypt, and he has very beautiful, crystal blue eyes. He was approached several times by the locals to tell him how exceptionally beautiful they were. The issue with that was they would come right up to his face - about a couple of inches away, and stare into his eyes as they told him. He was a might uncomfortable with that... LOL!!

I've realized now that new experiences, for example even the basic thing of having a friend try to teach me how to eat with chop sticks is beneficial. I mean, I used to be afraid of things like that, another example is how I never learned to swim.(Something I'll rectify soon enough. But the "I-can't-swim-please-teach-me" line is my cheeky way of how I'll probably treat my boyfriend. ) Anyway, my point was going to be that I can't give in to fear. This was something my mum and I argued over the other day when I tried to escape at 2 in the morning, I live in an area where in my opinion it isn't much of an issue. Thankfully, through trial and error i've resolved that with her.
Haha, the mental image of Egyptian constantly looking someone dead centre makes me laugh a little bit. Definitely could see that making for an uncomfortable experience.
My Grandfather was a peacekeeper in the 1950s, near the Suez canal. I've heard many stories about the entire area, up into what was then Palestine. Its definitely a different atmosphere, much different than the way I know how to live. He often rambles on about how grandiose the great pyramids are. To be honest, its made me really want to go there. Regardless of how dirty the streets of Cairo are, or so I've been told, the idea of connecting to a place that my Grandfather has been 50 some odd years prior really is compelling.
Haha, one of these days before he croaks I'm going to sit down with him and type an entire collection of all his life stories. Amazing man, probably one of the biggest figures I look up to in my life.

Oh - very good idea! I would suggest a cheap digital voice recorder. Ask as many questions as you possibly can and save the digital files even after you've transcribed them. The voice imprint is precious...
