Description I was inspired to do this based on the image of Spiderman/Peter Parker's death in last year's Ultimate Spiderman comic. I wanted to capture the powerful emotions of the scene, sacrifice and loss. Everyone on Shepard's squad understands why he did what he did, but still that doesn't take away the hurt for those left behind. For Kaidan, he lost a lover, for James, a mentor, and for Garrus and Liara, a dear and old friend.

It was actually challenging to finish this piece. I kept getting put off by it, perhaps because it was emotional for me. Anyways, hope you all enjoy.

That is a really nice picture of the crew. I had a similar image in mind, but with Ashley in Kaidan's place and Ashley is begging Shepard to wake up. Where are Tali, EDI, and Javik?

I was going to draw more, but I decided that I didn't want to make it a huge group shot because that'd take me a week or so to finish. Maybe I'll make a revision later on though.

That sounds like a good idea I understand the reasoning behind not including those three. It does leave it open to interpretation though. Maybe Shepard chose the geth over the quarians, and Tali committed suicide, or maybe Tali died in the Suicide Mission. As for EDI and Javik, maybe they died when Harbinger shot a laser at Shepard and his squad.

Interesting, I didn't consider that but it certainly works. I don't know about you but I actually felt a serious sense of shock and loss when Tali committed suicide during my first playthrough. I had to stop, restart and do it over again, I was so upset. LOL

LOL Oh I understand that. Tali is one of the most loved characters. Sadly, it isn't surprising in the context of the quarians' extinction. It was the death of her people, and it was a really big blow to her. Fortunately for me, I never saw Tali commit suicide, but it was shocking to see in a youtube video
