Description Abstract Architecture is about strong, simple geometric forms that vaguely articulate architectural and landscaping conventions.

This image is a darker, earth toned print.

i'm an architecture student and i think this piece is a striking chemistry between architectural massings and graphic design (spirals at the foreground). The extra effort by you to create minute details like the opening on one of the models and floral patterns simply enhances the piece. Nice work.

Thank you ongjhao, much appreciated.
How far along in your architectural studies are you? It's quite a long course I believe. It's an interesting topic for sure.

Well, if I look at the lower right corner the shapes look like buildings. But as my eyes travel up the picture the illusion is ruined by the door setting a scale completly different from the one I have assumed from shapes in the corner. The window and the landscape also mapped on it also ruin it of course.

Also I think the boxes reaching the top of the picture messes with the illusion too, but in a more subtle manner. I think they are too high and thin to be belivable as parts of a building, plus they are leaning unrealistically for their height. If you move them so that they become free standing shapes, and make them more upright maybe it will be more convincing. Exactly how much you need to modify them to make them into buildings is of the really interesting part.

Thanks, I understand what you mean now.
I will take what you've said on board, though I still need to strike a balance between abstract architecture and just pure architectural representation.

Part of the appeal to me, particularly of the tall, leaning structures is that there are architectural concepts implied (these were also used in AA01).

I'm not dismissing your feedback though, as the shapes have to be recognizable enough to support the architectural idea.

Thanks for the comments.

So you are trying to make something that kinda looks like a house if you squint?
Try not mixing the scales, ie remove the door thing that sets the scale and makes all of this into squarish flat shapes.

I'm not really sure I understand what you mean about the scale.
Do you mean that the painted doorway in the back building stops the rest of the form looking architectural, because it scales them too small to also be buildings in the same scene?
