Wonderful infra-red I don't know how you get it all so sharp! And the colours are amazing. Bravo.

what kind of camera do you have??
these are some funky shutter speeds - too fast for a regular d70 and too slow for an ir-enabled one..

Hi

I use a regular D70, however, I use an infrared gelatin filter with my fisheye lens and the very short focal lenth means shorter shutter speeds.

thanks. I already figured that out while browsing throughout your gallery
it's just not the focal length, but the filter characteristics. looks like it's the perfect filter for a d70. can you tell me it's exact name?

Hi, it is Ilford SFX gelatin material.

Wonderful, this picture has so much depth! I really like that gnarly root/tree in the foreground! It's also cool how that white tree continues into the white cloud

Thanks, I don't like lens flare much either, but this was was too good not to post, even with it.

Veeeery nice photo! The only thing that I think might be improved is that lens flare.
Nice shot indeed!

crazy1ady In reply to bitflesh [2007-02-15 14:46:46 +0000 UTC]

Nah, most of my shots are lacking the cheesy lens flare, I have considered adding it to some of my other shots in photoshop but then decided I only needed one picture with it and it was this.

Actually, fisheyes and lens flare a an effing nightmare, I either have lens flare or my own shadow in the picture when using the fisheye. I tried to minimalize this one by hiding the sun behind the tree a little and used a small apeture to get a nicer sun with rays coming out. I don't really like lens flare but in this shot I think it is ok. I might try to shoot this again at a different time of the day when the sun is in a better position, but I don't think it will have the same feeling somehow.

I meant I liked it! Maybe it isn't very "defined". But forget about it I don't fav a shot if I don't totally like it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

crazy1ady In reply to bitflesh [2007-02-28 21:25:04 +0000 UTC]

I like this shot too. Actually, I am glad the lens flare is not more defined because someone would be telling me to stop using photoshop.

Very very nice photo, i have experimented with IR film but never found a place to develop it, looks great!

crazy1ady In reply to Sam-Bacon [2007-02-28 22:36:50 +0000 UTC]

If you use black and white IR film, you can develop it as you would develop normal black and white, not sure about the colour stuff but I am sure you can find out on the net.
