Okay before I really start this thing I just want to say something to these readers. First of it’s been sometime since I really took any of my writing seriously for anything. So there will be mistakes and I would like those that catch them to tell me so I may fix them when I’m serious. I also want to try to make these insert reader things gender neutral so if I mess up TELL ME!! I also try not to mention Trolls as Trolls so the reader can choose on that. If you want to read it as human Trolls so be it.(Okay I need to stop ranting soon!) Also I’m using my Bamboo tablet’s key board which lets me write out stuff so some letters may look weird. That’s it lets start this!

‘It’s just another morning’ you say to yourself as you roll out of bed. You look around your room spotting your calendar. You get up checking the date, dang it, it wasn’t just another day! It was Valentines day, of course it was today. You were always in a slow mood on Valentines day. Now you think back on past Valentines days.

When you were little you actually liked Valentines day. You would hope someone would say they loved you, but that would never happen. You acted different in a way most didn’t like. So they made sure not to act sweet on Valentines day. Oh well, who needed love any ways? You started seeing little hope some years ago and started hating the day. So now you don’t care for the day.

You hate thinking about the day too. Time to check your PesterChum/Trollian. You get your laptop seeing you already had some messages. It was Nepeta, your close friend or ‘furriend’ as she put it. She knew most of all how much you hated today. You started making her promise not to try shipping you with anyone this day since she always tried. You check the message to see it was her yearly promise of peace. That’s a sign of relief.

You see you have a few other messages telling you to try not to slump around today. Unfortunately you made a promise to your other pal Tavros that you’d try to act happy this year around. With it being Tavros you just couldn’t brake that promise. He even tried to get you excited about today. He planned a little get together at his place with all your pals.

Time to get ready if you were going to go. You go to your closet getting some of your more formal clothes(AKA a newer T-Shirt and Black pants). You pull yourself into the clothes getting your things. You message Tavros that you might be late if you even would show up.

You leave your home locking the door behind you. You wanted to check the areas stupidity on this terrible day. You were hungry so you go to a café, surely enough the place was full of couples. Perfect, you could go with a shot of nausea with your latte today. You wait for your Latte, and some jerk decides to try flirting with you. You really wanted to curse them off, but you just take your drink to go.

Where could you go now, you still need to waste time until the get together. You think a park but remember it’ll be full of love birds today. Great just great. You could just sit on some random bench and Pester/Troll your friends. You decide to do that starting up your one-of-a-kind projector watch. Your so glade you got it since it’s more portable than your laptop. You see Nepeta is on so you Pester/Troll her.

You sigh and check if Karkat is online. You call him your friend even though his constant yelling annoys you. But he yells at all his friends so it must be normal when knowing Karkat Vantas. The others would say he was easier going with you but you see no difference in your treatment. You have a small memory recall of when you met him. You remember Nepeta’s excitement when you two met. At first you for some reason thought he’d be timid and shy since he was in a sweater. But then again it was winter, and knowing him now you see how miss leading your judgment is. You feel so embarrassed with your past thoughts. You even recall thinking he was a possible future matesprit as you and your friends called it. GOG YOU CRAVED A LOVER BACK THEN! After that memory you feel you deserve to be called a dumbass by Karkat just this once.

You see that Karkat was online, you smile to yourself. You think it’s the perfect time to Pester/Troll him. But right as you were about to Pester/Troll him he Trolled you.

You sigh thinking for a moment. You were going to spend the day with one of the biggest assholes you know. This was going to be fun. But now that you think about it KarKat was acting a bit different with his word choices. He didn’t seem to be as mad as he usually is. He was clearly trying to be nice but more than he averagely would try. You decide to think nothing of it and start walking to meet Karkat.

~Scene change to Karkat~

Karkat sighed laying back in his computer chair. He started thinking since he didn’t really think of anything for the two of you to do. His thoughts started drifting to when he first met ____. He remembered her/his smile and a slight blush on their face. But then again it was cold outside. He never really expected you to have the attitude you have. Not many bother arguing with him but you put up a good fight from time-to-time. He started blushing remembering the face ____ makes when mad at him. He brought his hand to his face in embarrassment. Sure it was a cute face, but there was no reason to think that way of ____. ‘She/He would never feel that way about me’ the young Vantas thought to himself.

He heard a sound from his computer. It was a message from his friend Sollux. He always seemed to message Karkat when he needed to talk to someone. Karkat didn’t really enjoy chatting with him but he needed to rant.

Karkat sighed, Sollux maybe someone to talk to but he was annoying sometimes. No time to think of what a pain Sollux can be. ____ could show up anytime now. Probably a good idea to take Sollux’s advise and play it nice to ____. Not that he’d admit anything but he could act nice. Probably another good idea if he tried picking up his mess. But ____ knew most of the time he was busy so they didn’t mind. Karkat started thinking again. ____ was different from others, the others hated having to put up with his yelling. But ____ would either get him to stop or wouldn’t mind.

You saw Karkat’s hive as Sollux got you to call it. Him and his bee puns. You walked up to the door and knocked. You heard a small ruckus from inside. Maybe you came at a bad time, you considered leaving. The door opened with Karkat standing there holding his head. You sink inside thinking your knocking surprised him, indirectly hurting him.

“Are you going to come in or not?” He said grumpy, he wasn’t yelling so he must be hurt.

“Did you get hurt coming down or something?” You asked walking in.

“It’s nothing. How’ve you been holding up with this day?” He replied closing the door.

“It’s been hell.” You say with a sigh, ”I got some morning coffee, and had to deal with all the idiotic couples there. Some idiot even tried flirting with me.”

“I guess that is pretty bad.” Karkat stated, he was blushing in his mind seeing he couldn’t try flirting to hint at his feelings. But thinking for a moment, maybe it wasn’t even good to try. Sollux only knew from Kanaya, he could have misinterpreted whatever she said, there was no definite way of knowing. It would be too risky.

While Karkat wasn’t paying attention you worried that he was hurt. He sure made a big noise when he came to open the door, perhaps he wasn’t okay. Instinctively you started approaching him to check on his injury. You raised your hand to his head, he winced recoiling from your touch. Clearly he was hurt, but at the moment he mostly seemed pissed at. His eyes stared coldly into yours, almost past your eyes into you. Your _eye color_ eyes locked with his, you weren’t in the mood to deal with this. You glared at him for over reacting. He sighed looking away, he almost seemed to be blushing. You weren’t sure so you just went to reach for his head again.

This time you were much more gentle, he still reacted but he let you touch his head. You were surprised to already feel a bump on his head forming. This wasn’t exactly good.

“K-Karkat you’re seriously hurt, you need to get some ice on that and now.” You said demandingly. He looked you in the eye again no emotion behind them, not even anger. Perhaps another emotion but you couldn’t tell, you could only identify a few of his emotional hints being that he didn’t usually express himself much around you.

He sighed leaving to retrieve some ice as insisted upon by you. He came back holding a small bag of ice to his head. He really didn’t seem to care, he gestured for you to sit down. You sat pulling him down next to you. You know how much he despised your insists on being close. But you didn’t care, you carefully took his hand as he help the bag to his head. He was clammy as always, your touch was tender and soft. You smile trying to cheer him up.

You could almost bet that he just cracked a smile at you, but almost. It wasn’t a bright smile but a smile none the less and that was good enough for you. Victory in friendship, you earned one grit for making a crabby guy almost smile. You have a victory party in your head and spasm at the small win. Oh how you would gloat about this to Nepeta and Kanaya.

That’s for later but right now your so over come with the feeling of victory you find yourself hugging Karkat, you must have really zoned out in your mind to hug him without knowing. He was trying to escape your arms blushing from the contact. You knew how much that bothers him and quickly retrieve your arms from about his neck. You yourself blush embarrassed with your out burst.

“S-sorry Karkat, I-I don’t know what came over me I wasn’t paying attention.” you said redirecting your gaze to the floor away. Karkat found your reaction rather adorable, you don’t usually go about unaware of your action.

“Hey it’s alright ____, I won’t bother you about it this time.” Karkat said calmly sounding kind. He wasn’t yelling or grumbling under his breath to your surprise.

“Well that’s odd…” You said thinking out loud quickly realizing and mumbling the rest under your breath. Karkat looked at you confused.

“What was that?” He asked leaning towards you to hear you, you leaned back away from him. You put a bit more distance between the two of you blushing. Now you were the one with personal space problems.

“It’s nothing” You said turning away from him. He wasn’t taking that as a response, he looped his finger about your chin turning you to face him. He looked upset but you blushed from the action.

“Tell me the truth ____” He growled at you. His face was close to yours, you could feel his breath.

“I said it was no-” You were cut off in surprise. Karkat had stood up trying to calm himself down.

“FINE FINE I’LL BELIEVE YOUR BULLSHIT FOR NOW.” His calm composer was gone now he was irritated.

You sighed upset that his kindness was short lived. At least it was for some time, you start trying to figure it out. He was kinder to you, and he did try to keep calm around you even though he supposedly couldn’t stand you. Maybe he had reasons but it seemed to be irrelevant to anything happening around him. You them remember the few times Nepeta would try telling you that you would be good with Karkat. She claimed he would hint at liking you more than the rest of his associates.

You stop your train of thought, you know it wasn’t likely, you just irritated him. You for some reason always felt draw and lured to him. You couldn’t tell how or why but you just liked being around him. Perhaps your had feelings for him but you always tried to view it as a just good friends relationship.

Karkat started storming to his room leaving you alone. He closed the door and banged his head against a wall. The face you made when he was so close, he replayed it in his head feeling regret. You looked at him with that blush on your face. But the look you had said something different from flushed love. It was fear, again he hit his head with a loud thud. He hated himself in the moment mumbling to himself about his mistake.

You were worried hearing the loud thuds coming from his room. But knowing Karkat it was best to leave him be since he’d just get more mad. Why didn’t you just tell him he seemed out of character? That’s right it would have been rude, but then again it would keep him from hitting whatever he was hitting. You sighed holding you rhead in your hands. You think on what just happened. You were blushing when he was close.

You remember for the second time today how you use to feel a small crush for Karkat. Sure you were single and would be fine with finding a lover but, Karkat? It was a bit odd but then again you both were at least able to tolerate each other. Could it be you still had a small crush on him that was suppressed behind all the cursing and yelling? You did tell your friend Kanaya once that you did still have a crush on him and had feelings for him, but you were emotional at the time. You thought you were over it, but considering how you tend to act around him you realize not. But there’s no hope, he always claims he hates you.

While your in thought you start biting your lip, a small nervous habit of yours. When your thinking you act nervous and tend to be completely zoned out of everything. Its both a good habit since you can try to focus on calming done, but also terrible since you don’t know if someone is around you. While your busy with your thoughts Karkat had come back and was confused at your behavior.

He knew your lip biting was a sign that you were thinking. He also knew it meant not to bother you at the moment. He just walked to a near by chair sitting down watching you. He just studied your appearance admiring it. Your fidgeting was adorable, your biting just brought his attention to your glossed lips. They appeared so soft, so welcoming, so alluring. He found himself blushing and turned to keep his face hidden. He didn’t want you to see his blush, sure he might have some small feelings for you but he didn’t exactly want you to find out just yet at least.

He just watched waiting for you to notice he was there. He kept waiting watching as your lips were mangled by your teeth. You started to return to reality letting your lips breathe. They were a small bit bloody but you licked it away. The taste let you know you were very serious since you didn’t always end up with bloody lips. You looked over seeing Karkat, it startled you since you didn’t notice him there. He was staring at you with his amazing poker face. You blushed on sight, you didn’t like people watch you while you thought but it wasn’t like you could stop them. You look away embarrassed.

“ABOUT TIME YOU SNAPED OUT OF IT ____.” He said in an emotionless manner.

“S-so what?! You weren’t trying to get my attention.” You tried to argue back. You turned your head to hide your blush.

“YOU WERE TOO BUSY THINKING TO NOTICE THOUGH.” He had a point with that statement.

He got up walking over to you. He tilted your head to look at him, he almost smirked at the sight of your blush. He looked at your bleeding lips pointing to them.

You quickly look away trying to hide your face. Sure you were deep in thought but you didn’t need Karkat to point it out. It was him you were thinking about and here he is teasing you for thinking. Karkat could tell he was pushing it with how you were acting. He sighed rubbing his neck.

“COME ON, I SAID FOR US TO SPEND THE DAY TOGETHER. PROBABLY BEST WE DON’T JUST WASTE IT HERE.” Karkat may be a douche most of the time, but he knew when to stop.

You got up from your seat as he started out the door. He held it open for you locking the door behind him. He sighed looking around seeming depressed. Just stepping out safety of his home left you swimming in the feelings of Valentines day sweethearts. Everything smelled sweet with couples crawling about the streets. Both of you dropped your shoulders sinking your heads down. Neither of you could stand it, unison you both sighed starting to walk.

Karkat sighed, Sollux maybe someone to talk to but he was annoying sometimes. No time to think of what a pain Sollux can be. ____ could show up anytime now. Probably a good idea to take Sollux’s advise and play it nice to ____. Not that he’d admit anything but he could act nice. Probably another good idea if he tried picking up his mess. But ____ knew most of the time he was busy so they didn’t mind. Karkat started thinking again. ____ was different from others, the others hated having to put up with his yelling. But ____ would either get him to stop or wouldn’t mind.

You saw Karkat’s hive as Sollux got you to call it. Him and his bee puns. You walked up to the door and knocked. You heard a small ruckus from inside. Maybe you came at a bad time, you considered leaving. The door opened with Karkat standing there holding his head. You sink inside thinking your knocking surprised him, indirectly hurting him.

“Are you going to come in or not?” He said grumpy, he wasn’t yelling so he must be hurt.

“Did you get hurt coming down or something?” You asked walking in.

“It’s nothing. How’ve you been holding up with this day?” He replied closing the door.

“It’s been hell.” You say with a sigh, ”I got some morning coffee, and had to deal with all the idiotic couples there. Some idiot even tried flirting with me.”

“I guess that is pretty bad.” Karkat stated, he was blushing in his mind seeing he couldn’t try flirting to hint at his feelings. But thinking for a moment, maybe it wasn’t even good to try. Sollux only knew from Kanaya, he could have misinterpreted whatever she said, there was no definite way of knowing. It would be too risky.

While Karkat wasn’t paying attention you worried that he was hurt. He sure made a big noise when he came to open the door, perhaps he wasn’t okay. Instinctively you started approaching him to check on his injury. You raised your hand to his head, he winced recoiling from your touch. Clearly he was hurt, but at the moment he mostly seemed pissed at. His eyes stared coldly into yours, almost past your eyes into you. Your _eye color_ eyes locked with his, you weren’t in the mood to deal with this. You glared at him for over reacting. He sighed looking away, he almost seemed to be blushing. You weren’t sure so you just went to reach for his head again.

This time you were much more gentle, he still reacted but he let you touch his head. You were surprised to already feel a bump on his head forming. This wasn’t exactly good.

“K-Karkat you’re seriously hurt, you need to get some ice on that and now.” You said demandingly. He looked you in the eye again no emotion behind them, not even anger. Perhaps another emotion but you couldn’t tell, you could only identify a few of his emotional hints being that he didn’t usually express himself much around you.

He sighed leaving to retrieve some ice as insisted upon by you. He came back holding a small bag of ice to his head. He really didn’t seem to care, he gestured for you to sit down. You sat pulling him down next to you. You know how much he despised your insists on being close. But you didn’t care, you carefully took his hand as he help the bag to his head. He was clammy as always, your touch was tender and soft. You smile trying to cheer him up.

You could almost bet that he just cracked a smile at you, but almost. It wasn’t a bright smile but a smile none the less and that was good enough for you. Victory in friendship, you earned one grit for making a crabby guy almost smile. You have a victory party in your head and spasm at the small win. Oh how you would gloat about this to Nepeta and Kanaya.

That’s for later but right now your so over come with the feeling of victory you find yourself hugging Karkat, you must have really zoned out in your mind to hug him without knowing. He was trying to escape your arms blushing from the contact. You knew how much that bothers him and quickly retrieve your arms from about his neck. You yourself blush embarrassed with your out burst.

“S-sorry Karkat, I-I don’t know what came over me I wasn’t paying attention.” you said redirecting your gaze to the floor away. Karkat found your reaction rather adorable, you don’t usually go about unaware of your action.

“Hey it’s alright ____, I won’t bother you about it this time.” Karkat said calmly sounding kind. He wasn’t yelling or grumbling under his breath to your surprise.

“Well that’s odd…” You said thinking out loud quickly realizing and mumbling the rest under your breath. Karkat looked at you confused.

“What was that?” He asked leaning towards you to hear you, you leaned back away from him. You put a bit more distance between the two of you blushing. Now you were the one with personal space problems.

“It’s nothing” You said turning away from him. He wasn’t taking that as a response, he looped his finger about your chin turning you to face him. He looked upset but you blushed from the action.

“Tell me the truth ____” He growled at you. His face was close to yours, you could feel his breath.

“I said it was no-” You were cut off in surprise. Karkat had stood up trying to calm himself down.

“FINE FINE I’LL BELIEVE YOUR BULLSHIT FOR NOW.” His calm composer was gone now he was irritated.

You sighed upset that his kindness was short lived. At least it was for some time, you start trying to figure it out. He was kinder to you, and he did try to keep calm around you even though he supposedly couldn’t stand you. Maybe he had reasons but it seemed to be irrelevant to anything happening around him. You them remember the few times Nepeta would try telling you that you would be good with Karkat. She claimed he would hint at liking you more than the rest of his associates.

You stop your train of thought, you know it wasn’t likely, you just irritated him. You for some reason always felt draw and lured to him. You couldn’t tell how or why but you just liked being around him. Perhaps your had feelings for him but you always tried to view it as a just good friends relationship.

Karkat started storming to his room leaving you alone. He closed the door and banged his head against a wall. The face you made when he was so close, he replayed it in his head feeling regret. You looked at him with that blush on your face. But the look you had said something different from flushed love. It was fear, again he hit his head with a loud thud. He hated himself in the moment mumbling to himself about his mistake.

You were worried hearing the loud thuds coming from his room. But knowing Karkat it was best to leave him be since he’d just get more mad. Why didn’t you just tell him he seemed out of character? That’s right it would have been rude, but then again it would keep him from hitting whatever he was hitting. You sighed holding you rhead in your hands. You think on what just happened. You were blushing when he was close.

You remember for the second time today how you use to feel a small crush for Karkat. Sure you were single and would be fine with finding a lover but, Karkat? It was a bit odd but then again you both were at least able to tolerate each other. Could it be you still had a small crush on him that was suppressed behind all the cursing and yelling? You did tell your friend Kanaya once that you did still have a crush on him and had feelings for him, but you were emotional at the time. You thought you were over it, but considering how you tend to act around him you realize not. But there’s no hope, he always claims he hates you.

While your in thought you start biting your lip, a small nervous habit of yours. When your thinking you act nervous and tend to be completely zoned out of everything. Its both a good habit since you can try to focus on calming done, but also terrible since you don’t know if someone is around you. While your busy with your thoughts Karkat had come back and was confused at your behavior.

He knew your lip biting was a sign that you were thinking. He also knew it meant not to bother you at the moment. He just walked to a near by chair sitting down watching you. He just studied your appearance admiring it. Your fidgeting was adorable, your biting just brought his attention to your glossed lips. They appeared so soft, so welcoming, so alluring. He found himself blushing and turned to keep his face hidden. He didn’t want you to see his blush, sure he might have some small feelings for you but he didn’t exactly want you to find out just yet at least.

He just watched waiting for you to notice he was there. He kept waiting watching as your lips were mangled by your teeth. You started to return to reality letting your lips breathe. They were a small bit bloody but you licked it away. The taste let you know you were very serious since you didn’t always end up with bloody lips. You looked over seeing Karkat, it startled you since you didn’t notice him there. He was staring at you with his amazing poker face. You blushed on sight, you didn’t like people watch you while you thought but it wasn’t like you could stop them. You look away embarrassed.

“ABOUT TIME YOU SNAPED OUT OF IT ____.” He said in an emotionless manner.

“S-so what?! You weren’t trying to get my attention.” You tried to argue back. You turned your head to hide your blush.

“YOU WERE TOO BUSY THINKING TO NOTICE THOUGH.” He had a point with that statement.

He got up walking over to you. He tilted your head to look at him, he almost smirked at the sight of your blush. He looked at your bleeding lips pointing to them.

“there’s the proof that you were too busy too notice anything.” He said talking in a whisper, “you couldn’t even notice your own lips bleeding.”

You quickly look away trying to hide your face. Sure you were deep in thought but you didn’t need Karkat to point it out. It was him you were thinking about and here he is teasing you for thinking. Karkat could tell he was pushing it with how you were acting. He sighed rubbing his neck.

“COME ON, I SAID FOR US TO SPEND THE DAY TOGETHER. PROBABLY BEST WE DON’T JUST WASTE IT HERE.” Karkat may be a douche most of the time, but he knew when to stop.

You got up from your seat as he started out the door. He held it open for you locking the door behind him. He sighed looking around seeming depressed. Just stepping out safety of his home left you swimming in the feelings of Valentines day sweethearts. Everything smelled sweet with couples crawling about the streets. Both of you dropped your shoulders sinking your heads down. Neither of you could stand it, unison you both sighed starting to walk.
