Sometimes angels fall... sad as that may be
This is a rework of the original image I had worked on for Sometimes Angels Fall. Both and gave me very constructive and detailed feedback on the original piece. I am not saying this is a completed work but I think it is closer. I couldn't have done it without them taking the time to help me improve upon the concept
In this version I changed the background portal entirely, I like it better as the cave versus a "wall" just works out better in my eyes. I pretty much redid the entire image beyond the base angel. I lightened it up a bit and worked with adding a few lighting effects around the edges. I did a heavy use of gaussian blur and drop shadows to try to shadow and darken the image without getting overboard

...Anyway. More seriously, some improvement could still be made, but nothing too shocking comes to my mind. It looks a lot better than the first version already. If anything, I agree on the wings matter. Besides that, the next changes are up to you and your tastes as it already looks good. I think you improved a lot in the fantasy style with this one.

Ohhh this looks great! I like this one better than the original for sure
But, as usual, I do have a few ideas...
-First, the left side of the cave looks oddly smooth compared to the right side. The right side is textured and has a orange glow. Try to match the left side with similar textures and a similar oragne glow/highlights. Also, now that the image is darker overall, see about adding orange highlights (fromt eh flames) on the cave floor and definitely on the roof.
-Second, there are a few areas where remnants of the former backgrounds are visible, particularly on the roof and right side of the cave, and on the angel's hair and arms. Try to clean up the edges and - in any cases where they look to be a different colour - adjust the colour of the highlights to match the cave walls.
-Next, the wings look sort of detached from teh woman because they have no highlights. Try adding highlits around the darker edges and giving them a orangish colour overall.
BTW- The fire looks great!!

Thanks the edges are primarily what I know I needed to do more work around... though adding orange highlights are somewhat tricky, trying to figure that one out I expect.

Hey bud I should have an angel for you tonight or tomorrow, found a model, added the wings and did some other work... but working on the background to clinch the piece... and some fine tuning...

Yep just doing the credits now, so it should be up in a few. I had a piece of stock in a folder that fit the bill for the angel, wings were easy after that...

I could give it a try... mostly it is finding the right model for it but I suspect I can do that
