I just submitted another pic to the normal gallery and they asked me if I was entering it as well. I said if it's OK and that I'd prefer Patience as the bigger version, so we'll see.

I can assure you that this is totally mine. The only ref used was for the stripe pattern and it was not a photo that was anything like this painting. The eyes, leaves and shadow effect are completely made up from my head. No ref used at all.
If you've seen this exact same image on a mag, I suggest that you give me the link, as someone has copied me or used my pic.
There are many versions of this image. It doesn't take too much imagination to come up with a tiger behind a bush, and I have seen many different versions of this here on DA.

This has great rish colors and awesome brushstrokes.
Why are his eyes not at the same angle as his nose and mouth. It's pretty obvious from faw away, as well as close up. also the bridge of his nose looks like the closest part of him because of both the color and the shading of the bottom half of the nose behind the leaves.

also the eyes and the detail around them are the bomb.

The lighting is absolutely incredible...the eyes are so sparkling with life because of it.
Critique...hmm...tough because I love this..maybe add a few irregular shadows on her face to accentuate the look of her hiding in the leaves.
