Today I learned that my favorite things to paint are blood and tentacles. My characters are royally boned.

I have also discovered that I have a crippling inability to take scary/threatening characters for what they are. I tend to find the bad guys more interesting, and completely overlook the fact that they are far more likely to mount my head on a stake than anything else. Take the above image. It's a Tentaspy mine in fact, named Javert, because I can't resist naming and giving backstories to anything I draw , a wonderful result of crazy people on the internet who decided to combine the popular video game Team Fortress 2 and Disney's The Little Mermaid. I'm not really sure where the Spy Crab came from, but normally they hate each other and the Tentaspy is only out for a delicious meaty meal. Obviously that is not the case in the above drawing. I just like drawing cuddly Tentaspy. :/ Oh wells. Artistic license and all that jazz.
Plus I seem to have a preference to antagonist/protagonist pairings, generally with the female as the good character. What can I say, bad guys trump good guys on the coolness meter any day.
EDIT: HIS EAR IS SO LEEETLE. HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT!?

Hmm. I don't think Javert is meant to be bad. I think he's like a constitutionist-or Earl Warren in the early part of his political life, an upholder of the law. He lacks comprehension of moral-how that can gray a situation-but only to fulfill duty, the law-thus improve France. But certainly not evil, misconstrued with good intentions I think fits better. Valjean on the other hand, is almost like a radical socialist-in that government and the law do not have a role in society that can benefit the masses as much as ruling by morale alone does.
I don't see any problem with the ears, and personally I love this drawing. Reminds me very much so of Ursula from Little Mermaid.

XD Oh man, you have no idea how long I have waited for someone to make a Les Miserables reference. I didn't intentionally pick the name thinking of him, but when I realized, I couldn't help but to think that it was perfect. Javert the tentaspy isn't bad, he just has a different outlook on things.
I would have to agree with you though, I was always pretty sympathetic towards Javert. He didn't know he was in a play and was actively attempting to thwart the main character a futile effort. He was just trying to keep things in order, and fufill justice as he interpreted it. That and every presentation of the play I have seen, the guy who played him was a wicked awesome singer. XD
But yes, that's actually what the tentaspy was based on, a mashing of Team Fortress 2 and the Little mermaid. As the sneaky, conniving one, Spy was delegated to the role of Ursula. And so was born the tentaspy. Also the Little Merscoot, but that's another story. C:
