While I liked "The Promise," "The Search" really pissed me off!  That and Korra had left a bad taste in my mouth.

You are not alone! I was really hype with the graphic novel but "The Search" story was kind of lame/out of nowhere, I didn't feel great while reading it. And Korra, well I just can't love her she's a pain in the arse. Don't get me wrong I'm watching the series, but I cannot connect with this character as I did with Aang even if I'm a woman she's really a pain -_- I'm watching Korra just for the elders: Tenzin, Lin, Bumi...

Have you read "The Rift"? It looks promising in some way but not as WOW! This one will touch Toph's relationship with her father.

Anyways we have mixed feelings lol.

"The Search," was a MESS.  Reading it and articles by the creators, it was clear that they had to change it half way through since they originally meant for Ozai not to be Zuko's real father.  This might have been interesting for a fan theory but not the over all scope of the franchise.  For Ursa to conceive a child behind Ozai's back and the leave Zuko behind with a man she knew was abusive, would be such a massive betrayal we could never forgive her for it.  That's why they came up with the whole " she was mind screwed" twist.  So that the fans wouldn't be so pissed with them.  I honestly thought she would be one the Joo Dees in Ba Singh Se.  Korra pisses me off for two reasons.  She has no sense of perspective and while Aang was child-like, Korra is just childish.  I do like that Zuko and Katarra are they only ones left alive in Korras time and they're not on speaking terms.  Makes you wonder.

OH I didn't know about the creators articles but I agree with you with the mess of "The Search". It was like they didn't know what to do or how to solve Ursa's whereabouts mystery and they came up with the lame story behind, at first I was excited about Zuko not being Ozai's son but then the whole thing after was like "meh". Now with "The Rift" they're trying to bring the topic about Toph's love interest (which is not a love interest more like a fanboy over her and she using him) and how she'll solve her family issues. For the time being there's nothing else to say about this just waiting for the second part of the Rift. 

I'm glad Zuko and Katara are alive in legend of Korra, and to be honest I want to know more about them and whatever happened between the gaAng than following Korra's adventures. Glad to know that Toph is alive as well in Legend of Korra, I heard that a main topic related to the gaAng is the fact that they were "great heroes but terrible parents".

Let's see what Book 3 will teach/show us.

Not looking forward to Book 3.  I feel like I've been burned before you know.  Supposedly, Zuko and Katara haven't spoken to each other since Sokka died.  He and Zuko were good friends and apparently the only one of the GaAng that was still on good terms with the Firelord.  He wanted nothing to do with Aang ever since he heard about Bloodbenders in Republic city.  When Mai died, he spent most of his time drunk off his ass.  It would be great if there was a confrontation scene between him and Katara on the show.
