Description Stalking the streets of human civilization, the curious creature known as Bug Zapper sways innocents into his arms with his hypnotic glow, before giving them their ultimate reward... DEATH!

Hailing from a race of spacefaring insectoids, Bug Zapper was once one of many barrel-sized eggs being carried by a passenger ship taking a detour through Earth's Solar System, before the vessel was attacked by Lunite privateers. The egg was scattered throughout the void of space, resilient enough to not only survive the intense vacuum, but also withstand the rigors of entering the Earth's atmosphere and impacting somewhere in the Blue Ridge Mountain range of North America, where it lay dormant for several months.

When the egg finally hatched, the small nymph within already possessed the size and intelligence of a small human child, and set about foraging for food. Initially feeding upon small bugs for food, the bug realized that in order to supplant its diet, it would require red meat. At first it found the task difficult, but soon the young hatchling discovered its species unique method of capturing food- a mixture of bio-luminescence and electricity.

By unconsciously emitting a hypnotic glow generated by enzymes under its tough, smooth shell, the hatchling could attract any weak-willed species towards itself, drawn by the intense dazzling light and robbing them of any higher brain functions- including their sense of self-preservation. But once the dazzled creature makes contact with the insect's exoskeleton, they are subjected to an intense current of electricity ranging from 1 to 3 kilo-volts: enough to cause immediate brain death in most creatures, including deer, wolves, and in some cases, human beings. The insect then drags the paralyzed creature back to its burrow for consumption, with nary a care for how effectively or harmlessly the shock was administered. Because of its strange nature and feeding patterns, the predator has been dubbed a "Bug Zapper" by local travellers who witness its feeding cycles, becoming an urban legend in the vein of Bigfoot and the Mothman. And since it had no real friends or the proper upbringing its parents intended, the insect became very antisocial and violent in Earth's "eat or be eaten" environment.

By the time it had reached full maturity, the creature had become sparsely accustomed with the English language, to the point that it could assign meaning to spoken phrases and words and ward off intruders with warnings. But with this increase in knowledge came an intense... curiosity. A desire to learn more about this strange place it lived in, and a fascination with the humans it preyed upon. Making up its mind, Bug Zapper decided to forgo its instinctive hunger in place of paying a visit to human civilization and taking note of its many wonders not found in the mountains- especially electronics. If it finds any electronic appliances such as TVs or radios, the creature will most likely attempt to abscond back to its lair with them. And if any humans manage to freak out and try to do the creature harm... it'll simply turn on the glow, and then no more problem! After, there's no reason to feel remorse. There's plenty of humans- they can simply can make more, can't they?

Though it is completely oblivious to the presence of local heroes and enhanced beings, Bug Zapper is extremely unlikely to be afraid of them. Then again, any true hero's primary concern would be less about defeating the bug itself, and more about stopping civilians from being blissfully roasted alive. If push comes to shove, its hypnotic glow can easily weed out the more susceptible foes. And since it's virtually impossible for most humans to survive contact with the creature's electrical exoskeleton (unless they're properly grounded or insulated) Bug Zapper can still take care of its more resilient enemies by seizing them with both arms and channeling enough energy into their body to fry their nerves, boil their blood, and cause serious burn damage.

Bug Zapper also possesses average human strength and height, and while it cannot fly or fire projectiles, it can leap a maximum of 12 feet into the air, and can hop between buildings in a manner akin to a grasshopper. Its skill with hand-to-hand combat is somewhat limited, but its antennae and compound eyes make it hard to sneak up on. So unless the hero or heroine seeking to take the Zapper out has a REALLY GOOD plan, a one-on-one fight is very unfeasible.

I know of a few OC's that have lightning powers and those OC's are immune to electricity. Β One actually gets a power boost if you zap her.

BTW love Bug Zapper's "Zap Form"

Well he was made with a few more physical and easily-manipulated characters in mind. Though anyone with a good enough head on their shoulders and a way to circumvent his bio-electric attacks should be able to put him on the run.

But I wouldn't look at his "Zap Form" too closely if I were you... lest one of your own characters fall under his sinister spell, only to get instantly fried like so many heroes and heroines in the past.
