Hey!
Overall, it's a great piece of artwork.
However, I think you 'overfiltered' it a bit; it's not really annoying, but the hair looks really unrealistic because of it.
The idea is very nice, the models did a great job (the model for the hands really makes it look like this is tense) and the 'dead eyes'-look by the other model is very well done and it suits her, but it removes the life we otherwise see in your pieces.
The details, like the soul-smoke (?),the chain and the seemingly dry lips (a nice change from the otherwise luscious lips in your pieces), give something else to look at.
Any other artist may call this their opus magnum, as it is a great piece, but it seems a bit below your standards.
...Sorry if this sounds naggy. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a⦠" width="19" height="19" alt="" title="Sweating a little..."/>

I agree with what others have said: there's too much going on, and it is unclear as to what the focus is. The expression in particular tries too hard, and it would have come across as much more effective if it were mysterious and subtle. It's like cleavage: to reveal just a hint of it is a lot sexier than to cover only the bare minimum. The former lets the imagination wonder and intrigues the man (or woman), while the latter is just like... "BOOBS..." That was an awful analogy, but I can't think of another.
Another thing about the expression: Just as it's overly dramatic and conveys the message, "oh. She's not happy," it's also overdone in the sense that it's not very creative. It feels like something I'd see at one of my school's art expos, where a quite a few of the works are similar to this one in composition and expression. You should consider maybe off-centering her. Also, as previously said, I think the piece would be much more interesting if the face were cut off at the cheekbones.
The smoke is also redundant in the way it is used, and it feels distracting. Perhaps you could have had the smoke come from below and envelop her, or let the smoke be the hands with claws. The hands do grab the viewer's attention, and that is good.
I also liked the chains, although I feel it does not look "oppressive", since the woman can slide her head through it. Because of this, the chains feel more like a decorative necklace than a tool of abuse.
The hair blending in to the picture is a nice touch, since it directs focus more toward the face, hands, and chain.
It's my first critique, so take it with a grain of salt, and do feel free to ask me if anything I said was unclear!

This pic says 10,000 words! Both muse and slave, she suffers the Artist's whims, be they creative or what have you. Her expression is suffrage and surrender, she willingly submits to the Artist to grow as a person and creative artist herself. In her world, the Artist is everything, she belongs to him/her. I like the complexities. As my gaze wanders over it, taking in the clutching hands emerging from shadow, the chain, smoke and her expression, a story emerges, similar to Story of O. This piece is dark and sensual, a portrait of the origin of human creativity, from shadow into the light. It is haunting and mysterious, just as creativity. Where do ideas come from?

hair some point get lost and darks kind fkat the picture instead of gettin a great contrast and volumen. i dont know why but for me the picture shows a lot of noise eventhough it was ISO 100!
If the idea was to provide a over dramatic idea you got it!

good grief.
had this decent comment about how you've become one of my favorite photographers.
how you seem to convey such depth and range of emotion.
how, without a doubt, your photography are works of art.
etc, etc,...
and then my STUPID computer freezes up and i have to reboot!
ARGH!
so,...
anyway,...
it was a decent comment.
and your work is incredible.
think i'll go pour gas on my computer now and light it afire.
got a match?
