Okay, I know I have been absent for quite some time, but now I am resuming my work on the series of Gym Leaders from the Kanto Region in Pokémon, starting with Kiyo. For those who don't know Kiyo was originally the Gym Leader of Saffron City, until he and his disciples got kicked out of their gym by Sabrina and her Psychic Pokémon-using followers. But despite this fact, in the game if you decided to take on challenge Kiyo and his Fighting-type using pupils you might not end up earning yourself a badge, but instead you got to choose a fighting-type Pokémon to keep. In the first generation you got to choose between the offensive Hitmonlee and the defensive Hitmonchan, in the second generation however, you could only get a Tyrogue, wich you could then train to grow up either as Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee or Hitmontop. And if you think that Kiyo in this picture looks a little like a certain character from a certain famous fighting-game franchise, well, let's just say it wasn't completely unintentional. Next time it will definitively be Sabrina, so hang in there, please.

Muy bien, se que llevo algo de tiempo ausente, pero ya voy a continuar mi trabajo en la serie de ilustraciones basada en lo Líderes de Gimnasio de la primera generación de Pokémon, comenzando por Kiyo. Para aquellos que estén desinformados, Kiyo era el Líder de Gimnasio original de Saffron City (Ciudad Azafrán, en la versión latina), hasta que él y sus alumnos fueron superados por Sabrina y por sus seguidores quienes usaban Pokémon Psíquicos. Pero si en el juego decidías retar de todas formas a Kiyo y a sus alumnos quienes utilizaban Pokémon de tipo Peleador, puede que no ganaras ninguna insignia, pero te ganabas la posibilidad de llevarte algún Pokémon Peleador contigo. En la primera generación, podías elegir entre el ofensivo Hitmonlee y el defensivo Hitmonchan, pero si jugabas la segunda generación sólo podías llevarte a Tyrogue, quien podías entonces entrenar para evolucionar en Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee o Hitmontop. Y si alguien piensa que dibujé a Kiyo un poco parecido a un cierto personaje de otro juego de peleas, sólo digamos que esto fue de cierta forma intencionado. La próxima vez haré a Sabrina, así que esperenla, por favor.
