Description Wow. Two-eyed Soy. -gaspshockawe-

Drawn and colored from around midnight to 2 am. I think this will teach me not to wield any kind of drawing utensil after midnight. It really makes me wish I had made a copy of the lineart before I started to draw. /= Oh well.

I was talking to a friend over msn when I suddenlly got the urge to draw a picture of Kaden and Soy. But I didn't want to draw them in their normal clothes and styles. That's when it hit me: Just make an alternate universe picture!

While sketching, I talked to my friend, and I told her that I was trying to figure out what Soy would look like if he was in our world. She suggested "Gang member 8D", but I think that he'd be more of a nerd than a thug if he had the chance to live a normal life.
Kaden on the other hand... 9_9;;

And that's what spawned this.
The background is completely random and looks like crap. XD
I have way too many green colored pencils. /=

^^ Thank you.

XD Yes. It would go something like this in court:

Lawyer!Soy: This evidence proves that the defendant is guilty.
Other!Lawyer: Objection! That evidence proves nothing, your honor!
Lawyer!Soy: -glare-
Other!Lawyer: O-- objection withdrawn, your honor...

I'm in love with Soy's Alt-Universe stylish hair. Give him a nice suit to go with that, and you can use him for serious no-resistance brain-control.

Anyway... They go really well together like that. And Kaden looks ...genuinely kind. Is that just me?
Great work, regardless.

A suit? He'd look like a lawyer. o-o Scary stuff.

Thanks. And... yes, he does. I don't know what happened there, actually. /=

I want to make another picture of these two now... I've spent all afternoon drawing a comic page with four panels showing a skeleton. u_u; I need a break before I start with the backgrounds and even trying to start with the shading.

Not that kind of suit. A snappy one.

Hmm. You inadvertently stumbled upon the bizarro-universe version of Kaden?

Give yourself a rest alright. Our captain needs replenishing of her creative energy. What better way than to draw more Soy?

Oh, I see. Yes, that would be a lot better. Don't do that, you put horrible pictures of Lawyer!Soy in my head. o_o

Seems like it. Let's see if I can find some way to make him useful. =3

XD I don't know, can't think of anything better.

Lawyer!Soy's gonna GET you. *finger-pointing with dramatic bg-lighting*

I could think of a coupla ways. What would make an even more useful discovery, however, is Bizarro Version Soy. If the regular one is close to asexual. . .

Me neither, that's for sure.

*studies thoughtfully* That is one hell of a funny image.

Right. So if we take Normal World Kaden and Bizarro World Soy, rig cameras in a room, put them in it, lock the door, and. . .

XD I keep picturing him starring in one of those Phoenix Wright games. However, I'm not sure he'd be successful as an attorney or not. /=

Magic. Ew. XD You know, I'd be all for that (just the blackmail value of those videos...), but even with the different universes and all, I think that would still count as incest... )= I'm sure they wouldn't mind, but damn it, I do. D=

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

samisi In reply to crunchturtle [2008-04-20 23:05:23 +0000 UTC]

He could probably manage a lot just by staring at people. Authority's all in the scare-effect.

You know, that's rather strange if you think about it. The reason incest is frowned upon to begin with is that the offspring of two close relatives has a high risk of becoming deformed, and that's bad. But in homosexual relationships, no offspring is possible, so the initial reason for frowning is lost.
I know you'll probably say that doesn't change anything, and I agree, it still feels irksome to have two siblings go together. But /why/ does it feel wrong? Honestly. Why.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

crunchturtle In reply to samisi [2008-04-20 23:51:34 +0000 UTC]

I think he'd do better as a prosecutor with tactics like that.

Well, considering that the mere thought of being in an incestual relationship with any of my sisters creeps the hell out of me, not only because I'm not a lesbian, but because I've grown up with them and I just can't even imagine having other kinds of feelings towards them. It's just nothing that I feel like I can wrap my mind around... D=

But to be fair, it's not exactly the same thing with Soy and Kaden, since they didn't grow up together and from the start, they have barely even acknowledged that they are related. So I guess that my previous argument is not really valid in this case. ...I don't know.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

samisi In reply to crunchturtle [2008-04-21 21:04:24 +0000 UTC]

They both need authority. Then it's just a matter of having solid evidence in support of your client to deliver while staring at the jury.

I do agree. But how different, really, is the classical girl-next-door story to a sibling relationship turned romantic?
*shrug* When it comes down to it, I think it's rather hard for us to change our mind about it merely by using reason since we've both been raised to shun incest. Just throwing around the whys, you know. We have to do that sometimes.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

crunchturtle In reply to samisi [2008-04-22 07:58:59 +0000 UTC]

True. But I think that Soy would rather present evidence to prove someone guilty than trying to prove that someone is innocent. "This man is guilty. -glare-"

Personally, I could never have a relationship with anyone I grew up with, no matter if it's someone who lived next door since I was a kid or someone I went to school with. Especially not the ones who were in my class from first to ninth grade. To me, they were all like my brothers and sisters, since I saw them more often than my own family at times.
Maybe it's just me, though. I'm more comfortable around people I'm just friends with than I've ever been around someone I was in a romantic relationship with. /=

It's always important to ask whys. Sure made me think a bit. ^^

*giggle* It would suit him better, wouldn't it. <3

*nods* I sort of agree with you, actually. There are very few people I have known all my life and still consider to be friends, even.
But I was referring to the classical clichΓ© in general.

Ah, yes. Generally a nice experience.

Yes. He'd only defend someone if a.) He owed them a favor. Or b.) It's someone he cares about. And that's not a whole lot of people. o_o; He'd be out of business in no time.

I understand that. I never got why it's considered romantic to have gone all your life knowing someone, and then one day "Whoa, I never noticed this before but... You're a girl/boy and you're pretty hot." o_o; If someone did that, I think I'd be a bit creeped out.

Very much so. I must exercise my brain more often. D= I can feel my intelligence melting away.

.... *irresistible vision of Soy defending Roc in a trial*

Hehehe~ Yea, I'm generally mildly sceptical to that type of pairings in fiction, but when it happens in reality it's unnerving. Sort of sparks the same feelings as seeing women my age pushing babies around: "it's your choice if you wanna, but hell count me out".

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

crunchturtle In reply to samisi [2008-05-03 23:39:08 +0000 UTC]

XD I can see that happening, yes.

Judge: You are accused of the murder an mutilation of sixteen men and women. How do you plead?

Soy: The defense pleads not guilty.

Prosecutor: We have five witnesses and a truckload of evidence that says he did it, your honor.

Soy: I said not guilty. -icy glare-

Yes, I think I know what you mean. I have a few friends who got married at 18 and another few who had babies just when they graduated (or even before that), and I just... don't understand it, I guess. /=

*shrug* Suppose it's like religion. If it makes'em happy, leave'em at it.
...But there's always the bloody missionaries to muck things up.

crunchturtle In reply to samisi [2008-05-04 08:17:38 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I would think so.

Yes, I agree. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, people should be able to do what they want. D=
Oh, yea. The ones who are recently converted: "Oh, you're saying that you don't want kids? I used to say that as well, but then I had Billy, and I've never been happier." e_e Good for you. Can we get back to discussing the weather now, please?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

crunchturtle In reply to samisi [2008-05-10 20:19:17 +0000 UTC]

When that happens, I sometimes get the urge to scream "Yeah? Well, if you haven't noticed, I'm not you!" in their face. But I'm much too well-behaved to actually do it, sadly. e-e; I have my own reasons to why I don't want kids, and hearing how other people became "so much happier" when they had kids is not making my biological clock tick faster.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

samisi In reply to crunchturtle [2008-05-11 13:58:48 +0000 UTC]

...and no matter how you look at it, they're indirectly telling you that their way of life is superior to yours. That's the real downside of missionaries.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

crunchturtle In reply to samisi [2008-05-12 13:27:39 +0000 UTC]

Yes, every kind of missionaries. D= It's annoying. I mean, I could hardly care less what other people do with their personal life - it's not my business - so it's really difficult for me to understand why some people think that they have the right to tell me what I should and should not do - just because I don't follow their ways?

Human beings are very difficult to understand, but oh so fascinating to observe.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

samisi In reply to crunchturtle [2008-05-14 14:50:48 +0000 UTC]

Yes. Adding to that, even if you do care what other people do with their personal lives, it's one hell of a step from 'caring' to walking up and telling them they're doing something wrong.

Definitely. I think that might be connected. *snicker*

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

crunchturtle In reply to samisi [2008-05-14 16:10:01 +0000 UTC]

Yes, especially if what they're doing really isn't wrong, it might just not be something that I would do.
I don't particularly care for public display of affection, but I'm sure as hell not walking up to people on the street who kiss and tell them to stop because I don't like seeing it. /=

Oh, I think so too.

crunchturtle In reply to samisi [2008-05-14 20:20:00 +0000 UTC]

Yea. I don't think you'd be seeing me trying to force people into following my beliefs. I'm not even sure what I believe yet, so even if I would do that, people would just be confused, I guess. /= I would probably tell everyone different things and once they all gather at the secret meeting place, there will be a great confusion and in the end, I will have accomplished nothing. Except confusion, but why waste time and money to do that, when my sister does that for free all the time?

... I think I need to sleep. XD; I'm talking crazy-talk.
