Naruto just stared at the red head after the word had slipped from his mouth. The teen didn't move, didn't breathe. It slipped. Blue green eyes fell to the mans feet as the brain behind them debated whether or not he should run away... run away very very fast.

"That'll be all kid." The blond mumbled watching the boy nod slightly and slip silently out the door into the ever flowing sea of bodies. His mind crashed as soon as the red head could no longer be seen.

Of course he'd never forgotten the child he and Iruka had found in the wall and he would never forget the way that child had looked at him, clung to him, depended on him. How he himself connected with the pale, tiny and frail boy. He couldn't forget that child if he tried or what that child had called him....
