I was actually wanting to get me one of these cats because of my allergies, but now I have a tortoise shell cat and surprisingly my allergy flares have gone down quite a bit, I only now really flare up if she gets in my face, other than that, I have no problem

That's lucky for both of you! Regular bathing will also help with your allergies....even wiping her down w/ a damp babywipe.

I know! I started just taking allergy meds, then after so long I ran out and never bothered to go in right away, Thats when I noticed I wasn't flaring up. so it makes me happy. I didn't used to be allergic either, I could cuddle and put my face in them all I wanted without a problem....
