As you make your way into the cave a cool, comforting dampness washes over your hide, much preferable to the burning heat of the sun. Despite being nearly blind the brightness of the day always felt unpleasant, almost dizzying to you. Now, back in the dark, your other senses return to their full potential.
It is silent except for the soft tapping of your feet on the rough, wet rock and the occasional faint splash echoing along the walls, the skittering of a spiderway above you. You crane your neck in every direction as you take in your new surroundings with your most reliable tool: Your nose. You easily pick up traces of salts, lichen, several kinds of tiny insects, a large body of water further into the cave and...

You stop dead in your track, snuffling rapidly as another scent creeps into your nostrils. Strangely sweet, unlike anything you have sensed before. It makes your mouth water and your stomach finds this to be a perfect opportunity to remind you that it has been days since your last bite. You sniff a few more times, longingly stretching your head towards the source of the smell. Whatever it is, it seems small and not far away. After a moment's hesitation you decide to:

-Charge recklessly for the source of this delicious scent! What good is caution if you starve half way there?

-Proceed slowly and stay alert, despite the enticement. Caution has saved your hide too many times already to abandon it now.

-Find some irrational excuse to turn around and head back out into the daylight.

[I had quite a bit of a debate with myself about wether a Khezu is nearly blind or completely blind since several articles of the monster hunter wiki conflict each other in that regard. In the end I decided to go with the game's description of "nearly blind".]
