On which mode are you working with your rebel ?
My rebel doesn't choosing for me the iso speed, I won't like it if it will

I beleive I was just in automatic, this is when i first had it. I normally now shoot mostly in manual or shutter proiroty. I do forget sometimes what I set my ISO to when I see a shot and take it without fully composing lol. That may have been the case there.

Happens to me too
Some times especially after night shots I forget the ISO settings on high
I saw that on the 20D it shows the ISO on the eye-finder
