Description
Lying in my bed with curtains drawn closed to block the sun, sealing the room like an oven.
The smell of my sweat is pungent with fear as it oozes from my open pores.
The smell of my stale breath rises from my throat and drops back down onto my face.
The heat, the darkness, and the gloom soothe me but even in their embrace I still feel alone.
I hurt you.
I see your tears in my memories, the memories that replay themselves over and over.
I hear your sobs as if you were next to me, sobs that echo in my head constantly.
My words and my idiocy caused both, they are the root of my eternal suffering.
I chant prayers in the darkness to blind me of these visions, deafen me of these sounds, silence me of my own stupidity.

And then they come...

Their myriad legs scuttle across the wooden floor as the spiders emerge from the darkest corners.
I sense them surrounding me, blocking any exit.
The spiders begin to mount the bed, their motion causing a rhythmatic vibration that intoxicates me.
The crawling movement on my legs worries me, on my groin it excites me, on my chest it terrifies me.
I try to stand but the weight of their bulbous bodies and ciliate legs pin me down.
I try to scream but an arachnid wave fills my mouth, stealing my breath.
My eyes ripped from their homes, leaving dark empty sockets.
My eardrums pierced and consumed, leaving the world around me hushed.
My tongue devoured, leaving me unable to ever scream again.
The flood of spiders subside, crawling from my eye cavities, my gaping mouth, my bleeding ears.
I sit up in the stifling darkness and buzzing silence, sensing their presence still around me.
They're leaving me with the two things they refuse to take.
They're leaving me alone and they're leaving me alive.
