I put lots of time into my OCs and comics, but they never seem to get much recognition.But when I upload that one crappy piece of fan art that I made when I was 13...
WHYYY??!!?By the way, I bet this comic will probably get more views than all of my original stuff combined, solely because it's a Spongebob parody. So why upload it, you may ask? Because I needed to get this off of my chest. I'm a struggling cartoonist just trying to be seen in this giant ocean of other people with the same aspirations.

It's all too true QuQ I recently stored some of my fan art, and noticed that I started getting less watchers and less favorites, and I learned that people were only watching and favoriting for those very things. Ah well, it feels better to draw what I enjoy without worrying about pageviews or what the watchers want from me

Yes you'd be correct, I stored most of the Sonic-related drawings in an attempt to encourage more people to check out my original stuff, but so far it's not really working

This is pretty much how it works.
I upload original art and I get nothing; I upload fan art and shytty cliche-as-hell stories, and they get 500 views within a week.

The same happens to me. I have some original characters that aren't FCs but they don't seem to be as recognized as my fanart and fan characters.

If you keep expecting to make art just to be commented and seen you're going to be very dissapointed :-\
In this artsy world there are lots of people, better than us, just keep doing it and gettin better at it
