Description So... yeah, still not much to see here.  I just thought... you know... I have it... and, um... I made it... I mean, sort of... and... why not... so, um... yeah.

Basically, I ran across this demo for an in-development MLP fan game called "The Underworld's Cello." I noticed in the comments that there was some confusion over what the little magnifying glass icons were supposed to be; apparently, some thought they were light bulbs, and frankly, I could see the resemblance. So feeling in a helpful mood, I decided to give the creator some suggestions as to how to make the icons look less like light bulbs, and apparently I even felt like going so far as to experiment around with magnifying glass designs myself. Guess I'm weird like that.

...Turns out he actually liked one of my redesigns enough to implement it in his game.  Perhaps I shouldn't over something this insignificant, but... I feel cool about that.

Top left: This one in the dotted box is the original.
Top center:  My first idea for fixing the "light bulb-like" appearance, where I made the lens and frame contrast a bit more, and recolored the top of the handle to distinguish it from the frame.

Upper-middle left:  Even with my ideas in place... I could still kind-of sort-of see how someone might possibly still mistake it for a light bulb... maybe...(?)  So I tried an alternative design with a black frame.
Upper-middle center:  I then thought of how so many magnifying glass icons I see are tilted.  "No lightbulb icons are tilted," I thought, "surely this will dispel any possible remaining light bulb-ish thoughts!!"  So here's the result.  I dunno how good it actually looks, though...

Entire right column:  All just experiments with shine effects on the lens.

Lower-middle left, lower-middle center, and bottom: More versions I added based on feedback.

...

...You know, It's amazing how much I have to say about stupidly small things... and inversely, how little I have to say about significantly more important things.

Anyway, just to reiterate, the original magnifying light bulb belongs to .  And to all three of you who ever actually read this, I do recommend downloading and trying out the demo!  I don't know about you, but I think it shows promise. ^^

I can't decide between the lower middle or lower right. What about you?

Lower middle?    Isn't that space empty?

Ah, gotcha!  Well, my brother down there seems to like the lower-right version.  If you still can't decide though, then would adding a few more options perchance help?

No, that's ok! I think I'll be able to make a good choice with what I have.

Oh.  ...You sure?  I kind of already added them... o_o;

I figured that you were torn between the tilted orientation and the transparent lens, so I figured combining both traits into one would would make the decision easier.

Oooh, wait, I think the very bottom has more style to it. May I?
