Description
After the success of our last Sonic movie parody, my brother came up with another one. And this is pretty much his project. He drew it, and since I had work today he built it in GIMP too. I advised a bit with the final touches.In case you can't tell (though I'm certain you can), this is a parody of James Cameron's Titanic. Similarly to that movie, Season 3 of Sonic X involves a blossoming (no pun intended) romance aboard a long ship voyage. Other than that, I don't think any explanation is really needed.
Directed by Geoffrey St. John. Since he won't be appearing in the comics anymore, he's gotta do something with his spare time.
Creating that image of the Blue Typhoon was by far the hardest part of composing this poster. We couldn't find any image on Google Images of a proper angle of the ship, so we spliced together a handful of screen shots from Youtube. The quality is, admittedly, pretty bad, but we cleaned it up as best we could using GIMP filters. We're satisfied with the result.

Not a bad piece of work. Β We need to learn to laugh at the things we love, and for me, that includes the Sonic franchise and Titanic. Β Still, I wonder how Tails and Cosmo could do a shot like that on the bow of a spaceship in its natural environment.

I poke fun at the Sonic franchise all the time despite being a member of the fanbase. They pull off the shot easily, as apparently in Sonic X all the main Sonic characters can breathe in space... but not under water.

The Blue Typhoon certainly resembles theΒ YamatoΒ fromΒ Star Blazers, but I always thought of theΒ AndromedaΒ from that series, while the Blue Typhoon's flight deck made me think of the flight deck ofΒ Battle 7Β fromΒ Macross 7.
