In one part of my town my mom, sis, and me counted 40 or so prairie dogs on the side of the street; cars were driving by, people were running, walking, and biking, but nevertheless, these prairie dogs were scurrying around or just standing.
Luckily, my house isn't too near to there or the prairie dogs could dig under the foundation of our house and cause problems.
My mom told me that and that some lady sometimes feeds the prairie dogs fruit so she is artificially increasing their population. And furthermore, there are houses/buildings near to where the prairie dogs live.
But I gotta say, your picture is amazing. Hehe, look at the dirt on the tip of the prairie dog's nose!
