Kenton Violet (M, 33)

Kenton has fair skin and a slightly-smaller-than-normal build: no wide shoulders or well-defined muscles, but not truly lanky or skinny either. His hair is semi-wavy and somewhere between blond and brown, and his eyes are somewhere between blue and light purple.
Kenton is the second of four children, with one older sister, one younger sister, and one younger brother, the younger siblings being twins. His family was fairly average, though during bedtime stories when he was younger his father would sometimes tell stories based on the rumor that he was distantly related to Kalos royalty. Although Kenton would later in his teens find out he had no royal ancestry during a school project, Kalosian or otherwise, the idea of inheriting a kingdom captured the young Kenton's mind thoroughly, and ever since he's had a fascination for all things royal. He learned to compose himself as if in a court, with impeccable manners and posture, though for practicality (his parents didn't raise a fool) he's avoided the gaudier aspects of royal lifestyle.
Kenton is generally calm and confident, but the disconnect between his average lifestyle and his love of royalty has conditioned him to concede things quite easily, letting other people take opportunities from him or backing out of challenges if he feels pushing forward would not provide enough benefit for his costs (price, time, or energy). Of note, Kenton voluntarily dropped out of the Indigo Plateau championships one year when he felt his Pokemon were too worn-out after his hard-fought round-of-32 victory for him to have a chance at the round-of-16.

"Aloof" is the perfect word for describing Kenton's Crobat, his first catch as a Zubat long ago, as Crobat has built his strategy around not getting hit, letting his opponents slowly lose their energy while he keeps healing, only attacking from on high when it's absolutely necessary.

While most people expect Cloyster to be defensive and hard to crack, Kenton decided to appeal to his Cloyster's mischievous personality and pull the "unexpected offense" card. High-risk, high-reward is the way Cloyster loves to play, especially because of how much it surprises her opponents.

Espeon (M)

Espeon was Kenton's first Pokemon, the Eevee being gifted as a companion Pokemon before Kenton had even turned two years old. Like his master, Espeon is calm and confident, though maybe a little on the small and fragile side. He initially began evolving after dinner one night, but know Kenton's fondness of the color purple, he stayed up all night delaying his evolution until dawn. Espeon is technically Kenton's strongest Pokemon, but rarely uses full power.

Sableye is Kenton's stand-in for royal jewelry, even if she isn't on display very much. She has a habit of doing her own thing, even in battles, which sometimes frustrates Kenton even if it turns out her judgement turned out to be better than his. She's always happy for a battle, though, and gets antsy if she hasn't fought in a long time. She also eats far more than anyone would expect based on her size, and Kenton has no clue where it all goes.

Goodra was a gift Kenton received from a pen pal in Kalos, and trainer and Pokemon haven't established a very strong bond despite her having been on his team for over 15 years now. Still, even with the distance between them, Goodra is an extremely loyal battler, following Kenton's instructions as well as Espeon does. Unlike Sableye, though, Goodra is much happier away from battle. She also eats quite a bit, but everyone expects that from a big, fat dragon and she indulges in the opportunity that gives her.
