her look was inspired by one of the unused heads for her from The Art of Borderlands 2 book

This is utterly awesome.
At the same time, as soon as I saw this, I had a sad thought in my head.
I pictured Maya dawning this look after a fight that cost Krieg's life. In the fight, he blocked a rocket that was aimed at Maya, and as she cradled his head in he arms, he took off his mask for the first time since he went insane, and said the only ever coherent sentence she ever heard: "Maya...you're as gorgeous as a thousand sunsets...I need you...I need you to love me...to care for me...because when I'm with you, I feel normal....I don't want to go...but I know it's my time....good bye...pr-prett-pretty l-lad-lady...."
So, from then on, she wore a mask and did her hair up in a punk hairstyle, in honor of the "Conductor of the Poop Train" that made her smile, once upon a time.

If I'm going to be really picky, that is a too long sentence to say during a firefight. I love the concept of it though, makes me tear up a little :')

Adorable couple! Though I generally prefer her with Zer0 for some reason... I think it's because he's the only other intelligent class... Understandable considering it has been confirmed on borderlands wikia that he's a robot...

Is it weird that this (and the head style) makes me ship Maya and Krieg a little more? For some reason they seem even more fitting and adorable(ly violent) with matching face masks.
