This is amazing. They both look fantastic and I dig all the minor deets. Like Kabal's hookswords, the skeleton in the pool, etc..
I'm really impressed with the BG. You always do a fantastic job on these, whether its fan art, or a fake.

Someone at MKO pointed out that Sonya looks like a little person, and I can't see past it now lol. Oh well. Thanks for the comments. It was a fun image to work up, I think that came through a bit. And you know me, always working in the little details. I have to tell myself to stop, otherwise it would get to be info overload of the occular type.

Yeah, that's kind of how I've got him worked up in my own shit. Definitely the best Baraka head ever, aside from Maybe MK2. I just love how the teeth are worked into the face.

As far as the females go in MK9, looks like they're all going to be scantily clad, whores. The Sindel scan that's floating around looks about as far from an elegant queen as you can get, aside from maybe a bag lady...

I'm going to have to disagree. Both Sonya and Sindel look fine. I, for the life of me, can't see the huge problem that people have had recently. Please don't use the 'it isn't realistic' excuse. Nothing about MK is realistic, and that's the beauty of it.
On topic, the artwork here is great. I love everything about Kabal. Maskless Kabal is something I've always wanted to see explored, and I like how you have the tube from that device entering his body. The only thing I'd have a problem with is the way Sonya looks, I need my females to be sexy, even when being killed, lol. However, I do suppose the saying 'different strokes for different folks' applies here.
I hope to see more.

Realism isn't really the problem. Personally, I think going with the really scantily clad look is beneath MK at this point - it's a just a really easy way to garner extra attention. Sure, that's always good for sales, but I still think it's a low tactic that MK can do without now that it's shooting up in popularity again anyway.
Like D1u9c7k9, I'd love to see Sindel in more regal attire. It suits her character better, being a queen of Edenia and all.

It doesn't really matter to me since every fighting game does it. I prefer scantily clad, but that's just my opinion. Who's to say that isn't what Queen's wear in Edenia? Anyway, like I said, it isn't a big deal.

See, that's the thing. It's all a matter of opinion. I don't think merely showing skin is skanky at all. Imo, people have a warped perception of what's skanky nowadays. However, I really wish this subject of discussion would die already and people would focus on things that actually matter, like game mechanics.

While I can agree that '[close to] nothing about MK is realistic', the remainder of your statement is pure opinion. And it's awfully arrogant to post your own feelings while totally dismissing those of others, just because it suits you. Personally, I'd like a much more realistic output from NRS, in regards to the characters' look and feel. I'm all for the over-the-top gore and violence, however I feel that a "Queen" should dress in a more regal manor, same as a Special Forces soldier should show some military bearing, and not report to a fight with her very large breasts barely held in by a vest and nothing more.
I do appreciate the kind komments, and I'm hardly upset when I get negative comments as long as they include criticism that actually assists the artist. However, being subjected to someone forcing their opinion on me as if it were the gospel is quite off putting from my shoes.

I haven't seen Sindel yet but I was already irked when I saw Kitana was wearing little more than a piece of blue dental floss. She's a Princess for God's sake!
So far Mileena is the only female character I've seen whose costume I have no issue with. She's supposed to show her body to take the focus off her monster-face. But for Kitana and Sonya (I guess for Sindel too) their characters require more than fighting in their underwear.

My bad if I came across as trying to impose my opinion unto you, that wasn't my intention so, I apologize. Well, Sindel's costume is more like her MK3 costume and that wasn't very regal either but, hey I'm not really for realism in my video games.
In regards to Sonya, I don't have a problem with the upper body portion. That's actually my favorite part, I think the dark leather looks badass, and if you really look at it, it's like a modified or updated, sexy version of her MK1 costume(which was awful, imo). However, I do understand your desires to see a more realistic version.
