Behold my first revisit to Assiniboine Park since before the very stringent measures/restrictions of the pandemic [2020-22].

As I mentioned earlier , I had had one particular mission while here in Assiniboine Park: a search for Winnie-the-Pooh, of sorts.

Yes, the Park Pavilion features a Pooh Gallery on its 2nd floor....

“The Best Bear in All the World”: The Many Sides of Winnie-the-Pooh

This exhibition brings together objects, archives, and works of art drawn from the collection of the Assiniboine Park Conservancy, Colebourn Family Archive, and the Archive of Modern Conflict to sift through the elements of fact, fiction, and fantasy that together comprise the multilayered identity of Winnie-the-Pooh. [link]

And yes, the Park also had a bronze statue of Lieutenant Harry Colebourn and his bear cub, this bronze statue children often run right past when they're playing at the Children’s Garden. But since then, when the park opened the Children's Nature Playground (open to the public year-round), located along the west walkway opposite the Park Pavilion, that very bronze statue now resides there.

But until this Saturday, I had yet to find that very bronze statue....

Now later on, I would find it—the bronze statue and its accompanying plaque—myself and three good female friends whom I had gotten reacquainted with Winnie-the-Pooh. [link]

And whom I would re-reacquaint with the legendary bear—both the real bear and its original owner, and the literary bear and its creator.

Here at the south entrance to the Nature Playground , which therein lies the Children's Garden !
