Most of my Macros are done with a Canon 50mm and a set of extension tubes, I also use a Sigma 70-300 with Macro if I am out and about

I find them the most useful bit of kit I have for Macro, these are the af confirm version, I find it better to use manual focus unless you have some very powerful lights, they are quite to swap in and out.

I find them very worth while, look around to get the best price though, they vary greatly in price but there is not too much difference in the product
