"Hey Sarge, we found two more of the kids missing from yesterday. Checked their stories with the LT. Seems the Vruthan shielded 'em at the last second and took the brunt of the initial explosion. Seems the kids were sensitive to mana displacement and blacked out on the spot. Another of their group panicked and ran off further in the catacombs, triggerring the rest of the explosives and causing the cave-in you saw on the way in--Quartermaster Evans thinks they're leftovers from the Villier's Pass Campaign a decade back. Thing is, Skullcracker mines won't stay active for more'n a couple a weeks at most... Siegrun checked around with Evans, area offers a really good dark rum at most. No military assets of any significant value. Place is a box canyon all around, with festering woods at the edges and wastelands to the North. There are, however, a series of seacaves to the south which might, and I am speculating here, might hook up with the town's catacombs--providing amples chances for smuggling... right under our noses.

As a matter of fact, the LT managed to nose out a few more from those kids. Seems they're a small ring of junior smugglers, eh? Evidently, the Vruthan sleeping on the bunk in back of the sawbones tent smuggled in the 'Nip the adjutant is so fond of. Either way, relatively light offense, all things considered."

"Might be difficult for a one-armed smuggler to put food on their table. Make sure to give them an application for the Aerocorps. Adjutant always said she could use a hand. Heh."
