Hey! I'm from ProjectComment , and your piece looks good I was hoping I could give some advice on your piece.
First off, the hair is great. I really think you did a great job with getting down the flowy feel of hair. The shading is pretty good too on the character, the shirt seems a bit loose in its shading but it's very difficult getting down shades in fabric 100%, so I understand why. The main place I think should be focused on would be the shape of the face and how the arms look. They look good, but they do not seem to flow completely with the rest of the piece. The face has an odd inward curve/dimple on the right cheek that feels a little too pronounced with the shading, and the arms look like they're just a tiny bit too flat or close to the body in regards to how muscular you want them to look. If you just soften the shading and lighten up that part of the cheek so the dimple looks more like a slight indent on the face, that would read a bit better for the arms, I'd say the best idea would be to make the shoulders slightly larger and more round, that way the arms hang somewhat farther away from the body, and that creates an illusion of more mass to her muscles since now you'd be able to draw her arms a little bigger/more pronounced.
Really this is a great piece, and I love the way you got the character to look it really is just two small things that need to be tweaked a hair and it'll be A+ material!!

The piece definitely pops out and draws the attention, though I'm not the biggest fan of random shapes and brush strokes in the background (unless done properly) nor the color combination. There might be a bit too much green compared to other colors, it takes over the character even. I'm also going to nitpick that white border, as it's completely unnecessary to have it there. Now to the main event. The character looks really nice, especially the face I love how you shaded it. The contrast is very nice and visible. The brushstrokes are great! And I want to love the hair, but I wish they were cleaned up/rendered more especially around the edges. With that, you made a completely perfect headshot, with that semi-realistic look, but it all falls down when the eyes meet the body and clothes. Skintone is much lighter, shadows don't work as well and her t-shirt looks sloppy. You seem to have an idea on how folds and anatomy works, but I feel like there's problem with general shaping, rendering and maybe even making the whole piece come together.
Nitpicking: That yellow light in the hair, I don't know why you would decide on that. I guess it was supposed to be a light source? In that case it should land on other parts of the body and expand more. The light or color change you've made on the neck is very good, so I was somehow let down by the situation on the hair. Again then - focus more on rendering. Take your time with each stroke!

Oh thank you so much for the edited version. I definitely see what you are going for and I really appreciate the hints. It is definitely easier for me to implement it differently now. <3Β
