I don't know if that would help. Godzilla Has more than doubled in size since his original appearance. He might as well be from Krypton, his powers are so tremendous.

And even though he keeps getting bigger, he also gets slower and much more brainless. he isn't the fun character i remember, battling Kong, Mothra and the Smog Monster.Β Β He's "badass".

The latest version is utterly invincible. Can destroy everything whilst standing in one place. Doesn't needΒ a brain. So powerful, no weapon, no monster, no coalition of monsters can stop him. Looks like his flesh is roasting. He looks hideous. I'm sure he willΒ find his fandom.

Apparently he has from what I've read.
I'm not happy with the new design, and the origin is similar to Destroyah's in this one; full of metamorphing forms.
but the fan-boy reviews have said it's good, and a commentary on the Fukishima disaster, and the officials screw-ups during it; especially the reactor meltdown cover-up.
(apparently, it's very Japanese in it narrative form --lots of stiff meetings at tables scenes).
but me?
Naw, don't like what I've seen.

dalek-hal In reply to Mindslave24-7 [2016-08-26 00:18:26 +0000 UTC]
Yes, the fanboy reviews. Nobody has seen it. Most of their Japanese is nonexistent. Mine's pretty good. They're filling in the blanks with their own guesses, and what they think they see. We won't know till--when?
Β Boy howdy, the destruction is vast, catastrophic. Nothing of a hero there.Β A mindless nuclear hell monster. Why would anybody root for this guy? He's nothing like Godzilla. His original creators might applaud the SPFX. I bet they wouldn't take the kids to see it. that was why the Godzilla movies of the past were so charming and silly. the kids would like it.Β When the kids were about they'd always watch the earlier Toho movies.Β They'd get bored with more recent fare. They could watch Ghidrah, Monster Zero, or Smog Monster. Tire quickly with Destroyah, or Biollante, Space Godzilla. Or just fast-forward to the monster scenes.

Mindslave24-7 In reply to dalek-hal [2016-08-26 04:02:59 +0000 UTC]
That's more a problem of the genre. they're trying to go back to the original movie, and its themes of the bombings and nuclear nightmares of world war II.
they want to make Drama.
Godzilla only became charming and silly when Toho realized that kids were becoming the preferred audience to it as their monster-verse expanded.
But that was also the golden age of Kaiju, you had Godzilla, and Ultraman, and all the others. and the kids ate it up, bad special effects and all. And it was goofy and fun, and damn fun to watch.
but the new stuff?
It's all angst and internal conflict and emo Gundam kids who need to just get over it.
and yes, I fast forward to the monster scenes now too.
but yes, I not happy with the new Godzilla. I understand the metaphor. I get it. Fukushima is a nuclear death zone again, and this time not from war, but from incompetence by TEPCO.
Its sad. I liked the old monster bashes. There was a morality to it. Good guys vs. bad guys. evil didn't win. and hey, lets destroy Tokyo again!Β (that poor castle...every movie).
Now the Power Rangers do that. And horribly badly too.
and now every episode has to have a moral to tell the kiddies, because they're too stupid to understand anything, because reality will damage their "fragile self egos"....
I miss the old days.
Just let the monsters fight, and stop talking about your feelings.

THey could just forget all this "drama" nonsense, and just treat it as an action fantasy, like Ghidrah, or Monster Zero. Just establish Monsters are a part of the world, and a unique and intelligent form of life. Like Mothra, Kong and Gamera, and later Godzilla.Β Then let them fight. They aren't wild animals. They have their own reasons. Mothra and Gamera are created to protect the world from things that, left unchecked, could ruin it. Godzilla actually rules the world.

well, it's certainly not impossible.Β The big problem is airfare. If you shop around you can find relatively inexpensive lodging, and food isn't any more expensive than here. The people are friendly and you can find help if you need it. So save your money and prepare to have a grand adventure!

Well, definitely Tokyo. Hit Akihabara first,Β so you can slake your anime/manga/whatever else desires. Don't forget to go to a Maid cafe, and be there for the Sunday cosplay turnout. Then start exploring. Keep your mind open. Be on your best behavior. You will have a wonderful time.
Β As for other places...I like Kyoto and Nagasaki. I want to do further explorations there.

As much as I hate to say it, Godzilla would win. We lack the firepower to harm him , and our armor and force shields could never withstand hisΒ Energy beams. We'd be obliterated.Β We'd be forced to use nuclear weapons, which would lay waste Japan and still would not be certain of destroying him. Like us, Godzilla thrives on hard radiation.
Β That said, DaleksΒ must ultimately triumph!
Β I did read a fanfic of the Fourth Doctor arriving in Tokyo during Godzilla's first rampage and encountering the Daleks there. The Doctor could do nothing about Godzilla's rampage, as it was a fixed point in time. He was, however, able able to thwart the plans of a squad of Daleks who were seeking the secret formula of the Oxygen Destroyer.Β He maneuvered them into the path of Godzilla and they were all annihilated from a burst of Godzilla's breath...

Maybe you'd need the aid of the Alliance to bring him down? (As much as you'd hate to be enlisting the aid of 'inferior' species).
π: 0 β©: 1
dalek-hal In reply to AngelGhidorah [2013-09-15 17:47:23 +0000 UTC]
We could try re-creating the Oxygen Destroyer. Or we could find a way to use our special Dalek mind control devices on him. He has been known to be susceptible to such things. Other inferior alien races have controlled himΒ with such apparatus. We could control him to destroy all!
Β The Alliance?Β They would just attempt to interfere with our Dalek plans!
π: 0 β©: 1
AngelGhidorah In reply to dalek-hal [2013-09-15 17:58:29 +0000 UTC]
(Depends on the film genre. It was only in the Showa era that he was susceptible while in the Heisei and Shinrei series he was immune to such control).
Recreating the Oxygen Destroyer may be one option.
Another option is using the weaponry on Dalek Saucers - they could move fast enough.

dalek-hal In reply to AngelGhidorah [2013-09-28 13:13:45 +0000 UTC]
Well, Godzilla has never had much difficulty in shooting down fast moving aircraft buzzing him. We could just let him destroy Japan and then seize the country afterwards. That's usually what we do--pit both sides against each other, than pick up the pieces after!

AngelGhidorah In reply to dalek-hal [2013-09-28 13:29:32 +0000 UTC]
I noticed - you tried doing that with the Earth and Draconian empires with the aid of The Master and the Ogrons while you were making yourself ill on Spiridon.
