99% of the time I create portraits but sometimes I just want to do something else. This is one of those. Don’t know how many of you have read Mary Stewart’s Arthurian series especially the Crystal Cave and Hollow Hills. Wonderful stories by a master writer. This idea came from them. The first time I painted the sword Excalibur I was still in high school. Merlins Great sword acting as Excalibur and the rock is from the Outpost environment scaled way down. Still messing with lighting. Perfect Portraits HDRI. Retextured the sword with more modern textures.

Iray render in Daz Studio 4.15 with post work in Affinity Photo. Black fill background with hand painting using Ron’s steam and smoke brushes.
