My phone almost died on me yesterday and I ended up losing all 320-odd apps I'd installed because I hadn't backed up anything. It took me nearly 5 hours to get the phone working properly; nothing google suggested seemed to work either. Lesson learnt, always back up and never ignore signs of impending trouble, which in my case were random phone restarts.Now I have just about 20 apps installed, don't really need anything more, cleaned up the SD card, no unorganized gunk anywhere, and a fresh setup for a fresh start.

I use the same lock screen, only bad thing is it won't let me change the sms from stock to chompsms

nope, no change. But GoLauncher has gotten very bloated with even more features that no one really uses.

GO locker has good looking themes, but very limited customization options. Haven't used it in months though, not sure if anything has changed.

I went through the same thing recently!! Only difference is, I stumbled on a little checkbox and checked it. This backed up all my apps and settings and such to Google servers. When I reset the phone, I just sat there as it loaded itself back up again. Toooo sweet!
Speaking of Too Sweet, this layout is gorgeous. Those Jorte cakes reeeeally stick out though. lol

Oh its pretty neat, has a couple of great themes out too and ever since they added the ability to use custom backgrounds its only gotten better.

Gruesome as it sounds, yes, my titanium backup numbered about that much a month back and I deleted that backup about 10 days prior to this fiasco because I was getting bogged down and wanted to remove the extra stuff, and make a new backup with only the apps I really use. Except I never got to it and then the phone went down and I had nothing to fall back on. Which also doesn't really matter, the only sucky part is setting everything up again

320?!? What do you need 320 apps for? If you want all of them back I suggest go to the android market via your web browser and go to my library. The market keeps track of every app your have installed on your devices as long as they are not sideloaded of course.

Don't ask! Although in fairness a good number were themes for launchers, music players etc. etc. (and I tried quite a few). In fact the phone went berserk with 'uid' inconsistencies which after 20 mins of google turned out to be code for clean up your damn phone!
And yes the Market had most of my apps - which led to another problem - as soon as I wiped the data and started up the phone the market started downloading/syncing about 220 apps at once, 5 mins into which I got the error (-101); which turned out to be a 24 hour ban on me downloading anything from the Market.
All in all I'd say it was an informative experience, and I don't really miss anything I had, and I lost nothing I can't again.
