Appearance: Calliope is somewhat of an awkward giraffe, being fairly thin and tall. While she tries to keep herself clean, she usually ends up with a random stray flower clinging to her clothes, or a dirt stain on her stockings. She'd still end up smelling like fresh soil, even if she spent the entire day locked in a room without any plants.

She also has freckles sprinkled all over her face and shoulders, as well as some on her upper-arms. There isn't a day that goes by that Calliope doesn't wear her favorite yellow ribbon around her neck, which was given to her by her previous trainer (Jacob) before he tragically passed away. She can also often be seen touching it or fiddling with it; a nervous habit she's never been able to break.

PERSONALS
Personality: Calliope has always been very kind-hearted and down-to-earth, and will go out of her way to help a friend in need. However, this has also gotten her into trouble multiple times as a result; she's been used and walked all over, and it's very hard for her to say 'no' when she's asked to do something (even if she knows that the task may be impossible for her to do). Calliope always puts others before herself, and refuses to let others see if she's hurting, which causes more emotional trouble than it's worth on Calliope's end.

She's also very timid and has a low level of confidence, but seems to have no problem attracting people to her in her human form, which often overwhelms her. She apologizes almost constantly as a result of traumatic events in her past. Calliope can also be kind of a klutz.

History: Calliope was abandoned at the daycare center in Unova as a petilil, and sold off to a young trainer by the name of Dexter. Dexter was very harsh and strict in his training methods, and often physically beat Calliope when she messed something up or did anything he didn't want her to do. He was ruthless, and would do whatever it took to get her to level up. He evolved her very early-on in her life with a sun stone as well. Calliope was entered in multiple battles on the Battle Subway against her own will, but wanted to do whatever it would take to make Dexter happy. During this time, she was also taught the move Energy Ball by Dexter (to be used in battles).

Eventually, there was a battle where one of Dexter's opponents saw his abusive tactics, and Dexter was disqualified from the Battle Subway, as well as banned. Dexter was later caught taking his anger out by brutally beating Calliope (nearly to death) and was quickly arrested. Calliope was taken to a Pokemon Center in Nimbasa City and spent a month there, recovering.

It was towards the end of the month where she met Jacob, an elderly man who was touring Unova. Jacob took her in and cared for her and, once she was fully recovered, let her help him in working at the small flower shop he owned in White Forest. Calliope lived with Jacob for four years; the happiest four years of her entire life. Unfortunately, as the years went on, Jacob's condition worsened. He suffered from multiple heart problems, and unfortunately, on the fourth year that Calliope had lived with him, he had a heart attack and died.

Calliope was left alone and scared and depressed. Being a Pokemon, she was unable to run the small flower shop by herself, and it was closed. She lived in the abandoned shop for three months before something life-changing happened.

On April 5 (two days after her birthday, in fact), Calliope saw a a human being change into a Poochyena before running off into the depths of the forest. Before they left, however, Calliope noticed the Pokemon/human throw an item into the dumpster just outside the flower shop. The lilligant quickly rushed outside, and, to her surprise, found a small watch-like device laying on top of the trash that had piled up in the bin. But it wasn't a watch; it was shaped like one in every respect, but it didn't tell time. It had a thin gray-silver device on the wristband that had a pokeball-like logo on it. On the logo it read "DITTECH" in bold font. Calliope was confused as to why the poochyena had tossed it; it seemed fine, other than a few scrapes. Regardless, she put the device on her left arm and delicately pressed the panel in the center. The LED lights lit up, and a small holographic screen flickered before her eyes, giving her choices in human clothing. After picking clothes she liked, she was transformed into her human form for the very first time. It took a lot of adjusting; walking was (and still occasionally is) very odd and confusing.

Calliope quickly realized that in her human form, she would be able to reopen Jacob's flower shop and continue his dream. She ran the shop for a short month before feeling depressed still, despite feeling that she should feel somewhat happy. It occurred to her that she was tired of Unova; she had awful memories associated with it, and was in a desperate need for a change of scenery.

So, using Jacob's leftover money in the hidden compartment in the shop (and what little money she herself had managed to make) she bought a plane ticket and flew to Kalos. Jacob had often spoken fondly of Kalos; his home region. The place he spoke particularly lovingly of was Lumiose City, a bustling tourist spot with many lively people and their Pokemon.

Calliope moved into Lumiose City, buying a small apartment. She currently resides there and spends her time working at the small portable flower cart she owns, moving around the city and selling her flowers.

She forced herself to glance over, and through a blurred view (due to tears or the fact that she was about to pass out, Calliope wasn't sure) she could see it: her arm, bent at an awkward angle. Arms were definitely not supposed to bend that way, she thought dizzily. Or at least, she didn't think they were supposed to. Human anatomy was still very puzzling to her. There was a strong hand gripping the middle of it; a hand she vaguely recognized. There was also a voice, deep and gritty like gravel. It was mocking her. Taunting her. Humiliating her with filthy words and awful phrases that she would never dare to repeat to anyone.

Realization shook her thin frame like the thunder that came after lightning. Or was it the other way around? Calliope couldn't remember. She was too weak, too disoriented, too confused, too shocked (a lot of words that ended in 'ed') to fight back. Regardless, she knew who her assaulter was. It was Dexter. It could only be him. Calliope could practically feel his putrid breath on the freckled skin of her neck, could almost see his condescending sneer. She'd failed. Failed her trainer. Failed the only person who cared for her, the only one who took her in when no one else wanted her. Now she felt something like tears bubbling up in her throat and around the corners of her eyes, a deep and stormy-gray sadness coiling around her stomach in thick, oozing tentacles.

Another realization struck her at this point. She was human. How did Dexter manage to find her, all the way out in Kalos?

And with a sharp shriek as she felt something break with a horrendous, vibrating crack, she woke up.
