The Dance
Enshrouded in shadow
She lies before me;
Whispering the words of playwrights
Past and present.
Her voice
Lures me to her,
As she promises me
Fame.
I hesitate,
Fear wells inside me.
Her words soften,
Become persuasive.
My will weakens
My fear subsides,
I can only
Obey.
Music begins.
In my heart a spark
Erupts.
I near her,
The spark becomes a
Flame.
We embrace;
The music swells;
Her fire consumes me;
And she and I
Begin
The Dance.
