Ok, I see the difference...but I actually like the posing and composition of this one better. I guess even though you were trying to put the fight in a smaller secluded area with lots of shadow (what I can tell from the redux) the closeness that the audience has to the fight in this one and the expression of the male fighter just hits that visceral button more effectively for me.
