Looks like it has some serious story going on, is this a storyboard project?

Not sure if this was your intention or not, but I feel like Anita should be looking at the driver, rather then out the window... maybe fixing the eyes to look at the driver would give the piece a more dramatic impact..?

So cool, Dan! I really love this rash of scenic work you've been doing. Mayhaps there is a comic about this team in your future?

I'm just amazed at your skill with backgrounds and perspective. Technical work like that makes my brain die a little inside, but I really must learn to tackle that fear soon!

there's a narrative there...mind you it's being posted way out of order to...but really it's just substance for doing illustrations

Cool, it's kind of fun to be able to piece it together without narration. Like a visual puzzle! I get to make up my own dialog too

I'll have to check out that Visual Stories group. Looks fun!

Do you actually have anything written with these characters? The detail and context of the situations you draw them on would seem to imply so.

DanHowardArt In reply to starstriker1 [2010-03-31 15:37:01 +0000 UTC]

there's something. right now any illustrations will be presented out of order and really only going to tell the story that you see in the picture. it's an illustration exercise for me, if anything

The plot thickens. How can you churn these out so quickly?! Great stuff and as ever a great use of light.

Are the eyes supposed to be looking up like that instead into the face?
The driving wheel is kinda distorted...

But aside that its an amazing painting! Very nicely done <3

I love your heat of the moment shots. My main crit is that the person tied up, their skull is way too big. It doesn't look to me like they are tucking their chin, it seems more that they have a huge forehead/cone head type skull.

Also i admit i don't follow all your characters but since their names both seem female, Anita and Cherry, its also something to note that the gagged person looks like a man more then a woman, but i could be wrong.

if it is a woman this is what pulls me to see more of a man.

She's laying back and her breast aren't held in a bra of any sort letting them fall with gravity, since we can't see the other breast it looks more like a man's pictorial muscle. At the angle and where the picture is cropped it, she also seems to have a broad shoulder and thick trunk for a torso.

As always though you detail is amazing and your angles and perspective are spot on. and again i love your heat of the moment shots i really do.
