Are you military? I never got to live anywhere interesting when my hubby was in the Army. One of our possible locations was Germany, but we got Tennesee instead.

I'm going to have to go back to the OKC Zoo again soon, I haven't even made it to the Meerkats and the aquariums yet. . .

My husband was military. I was actually born and raised in Germany. I moved here with my husband after he got medically discharged from the Army.

I didn't see the Meerkats in the OKC Zoo either. I guess we just walked by. But the aquarium is kind of cool. A little small, but still good.

We will go to the Tulsa Zoo tomorrow I think. I need to see the Meerkats again *g*

I bet you really miss it! My husband was medically discharged as well, bad knee.

bad knee? same here... my husband got stress fractures all over his left leg/knee because his stupid first sergeant made him run 8 miles a day. now my husband can barely walk

tulsa is ok. okc is way better. but i like tulsa zoo and since we live in tulsa, its a nice to go there from time to time

OUCH! Stress fractures?? That's insane! I hope he's getting a good disability percentage. My husband has something I can't spell - which didn't bother him before but being in the Army and the non-stop RUNNING and PT of course damaged it more. He was an Apache mechanic and spent all day in the hangar, how much running would he really have to do?

I'll have to go check out the Tulsa Zoo sometime. I love going this time of year when there aren't so many people out there. Summer is the worst - too many people and all the animals are hiding somewhere cool!

he doesn't get any disability. his first sergeant made him sign his papers 2 days before the doctors appointment. he really hated my husband. so my husband actually got chaptered out because of being overweight for like .08. and the only reason he was overweight was, because he couldn't run. he ate grapes all day and nothing else.
his first sergeant was a stupid man. couldn't say a sentence in normal english grammar, couldn't do any math but he could run. so thats all he cared about.
we actually have to pay the army right now. they want the bonus back my husband got after AIT.

Yeah you might want to check it out. Its cold today again but we are going anyways. The season tickets are cheap for a week so we will get a family one since we go ones a month most of the time...

Are you serious?? That's just so wrong! My husband's 1st Sgt. was a good friend so he was very lucky. My husband was on the weight program too because he was "overweight" but finally got out on a medical for his knee. I can't believe they want you to pay them back!! They gave him a bonus when he got out but had to wait several years to get his monthly disability (10%) until it was all paid back - which didn't make any sense to me at all. . . but then again, NOTHING in the Army made any sense to me at all!

Cold days are usually the best for photos! We have a pass for the OKC Zoo, it works with some other Zoos, I'll have to check and see if the Tulsa Zoo is on the list!

Nope Tulsa Zoo shouldn't be on the list. OKC Zoo is not on our Tulsa Zoo Pass *g*
But yeah a lot of Zoos around here are so thats cool

Yeah the Army is really irritating... Cut my time short in Germany though. A year ago today I moved to Oklahoma. Weird, since I found out about it 2 days before the flight was....

Darn! Have you been to the Oklahoma Aquarium? I've heard it's great but find it hard to fork out all that money for tickets. . . maybe one of these days. . .

Happy Oklahoma Anniversary! I hope you like it here - at least a little anyway. I was born and raised here so it has always been home to me. I'm SO glad to not be involved with the Army anymore!!

Yeah the Aquarium is like right across the street from where we live. We have been there once. I would love to go again since its really cool. You get to touch sharks But you're right it is expensive And we get nothing off the price with being a Member of the Tulsa Zoo.. Its sad.

Thank you I can say I start liking it, even though the weather really bothers me. Its sunny now, before we had a nice flash flood and my head hurts like crazy because of the weather changes.... But oh well. We will have to move somewhere else because of college anyways *g*

Anytime. I have found myself going to the zoo a lot lately and there is a park over here that has a lot of birds, they are a pain to try and get in flight but I am getting the hang of it. The new camera helps.

I know exactly what you mean. I have managed to get a couple that aren't blurred or but shots. I remember my piano teacher saying the same thing and scolding me for not practicing more.
