Yeah, they do resemble squirrels! They must be related somehow, I'm going to have to look it up! The differences are, they live in the ground in colonies in very dry areas (sort of like Meerkats), they are larger and their tails aren't as bushy, but darn it if they aren't just as cute! They also chatter a lot or "bark" (guess that's why they're called Prairie Dogs)

ALL the prairie dogs out there were pretty pudgy!! Whether they were all preggy or just really well fed, I don't know. . .
