Tiger Swallowtail on ZinniaSt. Louis County, Midwestern United States.
I love butterflies! They have been iconic messengers for me going back to childhood.
Tiger Swallowtails do not come around all that often, but they do like zinnias! I plant the dwarf version cause the normal ones are large and ungainly, but the butterflies really love them...all kinds! Zinnias are an annual in colder climates.
Used this as a photo reference for a piece in Illustrator using the then new "blob brush." [link]

This is absolutely gorgeous, and I must admit, am quite in love with this picture. I'm a huge lover of butterflies and haven't seen any in person in a really long time

Thank you! This was shot with a Minolta SLR 35mm. I have given up film, and now use a Cannon Rebel.

Nice! Also, thanks for the responce. I use to have a really nice, yet somewhat old Nikon SLR (35mm as well I believe), but it broke about two years ago. Made the switch to digital but still find myself preferring film.
