Amazing piece of work; would have made a great cover for the trade paperback. The Bear looks appropriately gargantuan and evil, an unnatural terror. Dani's crouched position works well here; it makes her look capable while simultaneously emphasizing her smallness and fragility against her foe.Β Her lone stand against the Demon Bear is the part of the story arc which affected me the most, since it feels like Dani clearly stands no chance, and you're constantly wondering how she's going to even survive.

I absolutely love the way the demon bear is picked out as a winter storm.Β Fantastic.Β
And the sharpness of the tree in the middle-ground makes the effect stand out more.
