An this is why i quit reading DC... An very similiar to why i quit reading Marvel too, come to think on it.
If you need some good comic book fun, i would like to suggest a free podcast download called The Red Panda. Its an OTR (old time radio play) style podcasts, all about a Golden Age hero called The Red Panda (very DC-esque, very similiar to early Batman, with just a smidge of the Shadow mixed in for flavour).
Its all done with contemporary stoytelling techniques, is top technical quality, with a complete cast of voice actors & is 100% free. Its got everything an ex-DC fanboy or fangirl wants out of a super-hero sotry: Adventure, romance, super villains, nazis, witty banter & best of all, it never reboots.
