Baba Yaga or Yagibiha, Yagishna - the ancient character of Slavic mythology.
Previously we believed that Baba Yaga could live in any village, disguised as an ordinary woman: caring for animals, cook, raise children. This idea of it converge with the ideas of ordinary witches.
Still, Baba Yaga - more dangerous creature, possessing much more powerful than any witch. Most often, she lives in a dense forest, which has long inspired fear in people, as perceived as the boundary between the worlds of the dead and the living. No wonder that her hut is enclosed by a palisade of human bones and skulls, and in many fairy tales, Baba Yaga eats human flesh. In fairy tales, it operates in three incarnations. Yaga-bogatyrsha has sword-kladentsom and equal beats heroes. Yaga-thief steals children, sometimes throwing them already dead, on the roof of his home, but more often carrying in his hut on chicken legs, or in the open field or under the ground.
